Thread: What are the rewards for you a Gift or a Reward...

No one is entitled to a gift. The rewards program was not setup to be a "gift" program. It was setup to be a REWARDS program.

What so many vets are pissed off about is that we all believed that we would receive a cool reward for showing 2 years of loyalty.

We all believed that the 24 month reward that was in development would be in line with the rewards that we have seen thus far and with the Rewards program as it is described.

I did not keep my accountS (4 of them) active just to play the game and enjoy it's content. I kept themactive because we all where waiting for the cool 2 year rewards that we all believed we would be getting!

We expected a reward that was inline with our loyalty of 2 years. What we got is a reward that is no where near what we had hoped for. Very disappointing. Now that we know what to expect in the future the "Rewards" program is NO LONGER motivating us to keep all 4 accounts active.

The SWG rewardsare not thank you's,theyare incentives! With the change to the rewards program of Holo mania the incentives are not appealing to MANY people. The game play is what it is, but dang anyone with Management 101 knows that customers respond to GOOD incentives!

- Buy SWG Limited Edtion and get Exclusive in game items! (Glasses)
- Buy SWG the total experiance andget the BARK
none SWG....

- Buy any car at the Employee price!
- Earn Air Miles and fly free!
- Free Cell service for one year!

Takea look at the UO communitys rewards program and you will know why my UO accountS are still active even after 9 years!!! UO stands for Ultima Online and it's rewards program was started by Ralph Koster....the same person that started SWGs! Go figure! Now someone who has no idea of how powerful a rewards program can be is messing it all up!

My cellular company rewards me every 2 years with a $500 dollars in credit to spend on a new phone. Why?
Because they want me to stay for another 2 years! It is not a gift. It is a SMART reward.

Please enlighten me. Am I missing something? Did the rewards program get switched to a gift program? If you see the rewards as a gift how is that? Lets talk about this....

Oh and BTW you could have gotten nothing... think about.

As far as worthwhile rewards...we did get nothing.

Honestly it would be better if we had NO rewards if the only rewards were going to get only serve to lower your view on the program itself. I dont play the game for rewards, but when they give them out I expect them to be good or why even bother?

Well, I do play the game because I enjoy it, not for the veteran rewards.

But having said that, it doesn't change the fact that these new veteran rewards are lame. I mean, a house plant...come on. It doesn't even grow and produce fruit like the plant from the Jedi village.

I don't know why people keep defending SOE, they aren't giving these rewards out of the kindness of their hearts. They aren't giving gifts because they care for us. They are doing it because they hope to bribe people into becoming game veterans. It's all about keeping subcribers.

And some of us are just letting them know that they will have to do better than yet more decorations to impress us.

Ulrek - So if you see a poster that says "Reward : $10,000" do you not expect to get $10,000 dollars if

you meet the terms of the rewards offering? I do!

A reward IS an incentive.

As a casual player, I enjoy the content, but I do not have the time to seek out all of the really cool loot

that I would like to get. I DID look forward to a reward for playing the game over a longer time period.
I expected it. I earned it. The reward was offered, I did want was required and I expected to get my reward

for doing my part.

A gift is something the you get for doing nothing. Like the 2 year anniversery gift. You did not have to do anything to get it.

ToEARN the 2 year REWARD you had to pay for 24 months of an active account. (by the way that is $360.00 dollars). If your account was not active, you did not EARN the reward.

If you worked for 2 years and where lead to believe by your boss that you where going to get a "Great" reward and then when that day arrives you where given a gift that was for the most part, EXACTLY the same

as someone who has start the job 30 days ago, how would you feel!

That is how us Vets feel...... wedid yard work for10 hours and got payed a nickel ! As we got payed our nickel, the nice old lady saw another one laying on the ground, picked it up andgave it tous saying "Excellent work on theyard there, how lucky youare, you get two nickels today! Now gobuy that moon pie you always wanted!

If we know that we where working for a nickel, we would have stopped working in the yard a LONG time ago...

Exactly. I, too, play this game for fun, not rewards or gifts. But this is simply a slap in the face. At the one year mark, I got an ADK, something VERY useful. At the 2 year mark, I got a Death Star hologram, that while cool, is something I'll forget about until the next time I need to go into my house (and we all know how useful houses are).

Taking a look at those two rewards together, the message I'm getting is "Here's the ADK,something cool and useful, since you stuck it out this long", then later at the 2 year mark "What are you still doing here? Um, have this hologramI guess". And you can say we don't have to recieve rewards and gifts, and to a degree, you're right, however, this stuff is standard practice, not just in mmorpgs, but other companies as a poster above wrote. However, when I started this game, there was no such thing as "lewt", and eventually, enough smacktards whined and got it instated. So then they instated a "lewt" program rewarding those who have been "loyal".

The fact is, whether you agree with it or not, it is a feature in the game now. And when you go from ADKs to a hologram, THAT is pretty damn disappointing and a slap in the face. Not only is a hologram a stupid 2 year reward, it's even WAY more stupid if you happen to not be a loyal, law abiding Imperial citizen. And furthermore, it's a slap in the face because it shows how little they actually care for the vets. After seeing this disappointment, I am quite convinced that the three year vet reward will be a hologram of Jar Jar Binks.

I miss UO vet rewards. Probably the best rewards program in any MMORPG was the one in UO. Etherial Mounts rocked, clothes that added AR Protection, black, leather, and pastel dye tubs....really useful stuff, not some crap holograms that are just going to sit around and do nothing.

What ever happened to the ATPT idea or underground houses?

Someone mentioned in another thread that they probably took the good ideas (ATPT and bunker houses) and plan on making them a reward for buying the next expansion...while the people here who have been here for 2 years and deserve a nice reward for our undying loyalty towards the game get screwed. Save your money to buy the next expansion in the store and the download, cause that'll be the only way to get both of these rewards probably

I don't understand why the DEV's are completely silent about this.

It is as if a million Veterans cried out in pain only to be silenced...

Why the stone wall ?

Zero communition what is going on?

Complete lack of any acknowledgement that the Rewards program has been changed. Why?

What is going on?!
