now... supposing i lose the ETA-2 to decay (hasn't happened yet, thankfully), and i buy another that's for sale on a vendor, will i be able to unpack it?

If your a Master Pilot, you shouldnt experience any decay... Deep Space FTW

your chassis will never decay to uselessness....it will stop decaying at 10 hps. By the time your chassis is taking damage, you're dead already anyway

Thanks for the info- I really don't take decay on my chassis if i'm master pilot? Or is that only in deep space...

If your ship gets destroyed in Deep Space, your ship won't decay. But if your ship gets destroyed elsewhere, you will suffer decay.
