Thread: how do I determine what armor I can wear?

armor is only wearable as an 'elite' combat profession im sure. like rifleman, pistoleer, ranger, creature handler etc. only the elite branches allow the wearing of armor and each is different.
rifleman pistoleer smuggler and few others = recon armor
carbineer creature handler and more = battle armor
bounty hunter and i forget the rest hah = assault armor
as to the space loot, when you read the description of said loot, it shows the level cert in there at the toppish, stuff u are not certed for it will tell you, or in manage components on your ship, the stuff u cant use on you will be greyed out

My apologies, I am sure this has been posted somewhere before, but none of the searches I attempted provided me an answer 
I am trying to figure out how I know what armor I can wear in game. After spending about 15k on stuff in the bazaar (not much to some of you guys, but I just started playing yesterday), I learned that it is possible to buy stuff you can not use. I bought "The Total Experience", and let me assure you.. the 'pamplhet' of a game manual does nothing to forewarn me about this situation!
I also am curious, how I determine what things I can upgrade to my space ship? I am alliance fighter pilot (in training!), and have been getting drops off ships I blow up, but I have no idea how I can tell if I can equip them or not for upgrades.
