I've completed the ARC-170 w/ my main character and can fly this no problem as a rebel pilot. My alt is a Freelance Pilot who i switched to Imp faction to do the "Jedi Starfighter" quests. I then traded it my main, but can't use it because he didn't complete the Quest.

IF this is a bug, (which should be considered) when is this going to be addressed??

IF this is a intended, then PLEASE REMOVE THE CERTIFCATIONS from the Tier 4 Rebel box for the Jedi Starfigher and the ARC-170 from the Imperial Pilot.

Under the current situation, In order for my main to pilot it, I have to resign from the rank of "Colonel", Loose my 4433 progress in Rebel Pilot, switch to Imperial faction, run the quest, and then START OVER in Alliance Pilot. This also the same for my Imperial Pilot I have as well for the ARC-170.

It was my believe by earlier post from the DEV's the ships would be tradeable because if you had the certifications you could fly any of the new ships. Why make them tradeable if you won't ever be able to use them.

I know I'm not alone in this, but some clarification would be nice. If i've missed a post on this, someone please post a link.

Yes, it's horribly stupid that everyone has certification to fly all of the RotW ships, yet for two of them you still have to be factioned (techincally) to fly them. The quests are factioned for the ARC-170 and Jedi Starfighter, and you have to complete the quest to pilot them. This was horrible thinking on the Dev's part... again.

I think it should stay the way it is The Jedi Starfighterhas the visual characteristics of aTIE fighter and the ARC-170 has the characteristics of a X-wing (from what I've seen of it anyway), the way they've made them available makes sense.

thunderheart said they put the certs in all 3 tree's incase you happened to change faction at some point and ended up with a ship you couldn't use.

so it's working as intended i'm afraid.

Has anybody Confirmed that you CAN do the quest for the ARC 170 change faction AND do the quest for the JEDI STARFIGHTER?

As a freelancer, I'd be happy to drop my Rebel rank (Col), go Imp, do the stinkin' Jedi Fighter mission, and then switch back (payingback to Colonel), but from what I understand, the reward ships are broken. If you switch faction, you won't be able to call them up on the datapad again.

Anyone confirm or deny if this still holds true?

I can confirm that after completing the quest for both, you can fly them, but Iam up neutral space (CorSec)and ground.

The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.

i'm not sure about all of this because on my server i saw a jedi starfighter flying around shooting down ties, and i dont think thats something an imp pilot would do.

I think the big question on everyone's mind (or at least on mine) is if as a single character, no alts involved..can you go Rebel, get the ARC-170; kill your Rebelstanding and go Imperial and get the JSF AND still be able to use the ARC-170. Theoretically it should be possible if you've physically DONE the both quests on your own with a single character, but I'm unsure and don't really wanna get the ARC and go back Imp and find I can't use it.

And for whoever said that it makes sense that the ARC is Rebel because it *looks* kinda like an X-Wing...aren't we forgetting the fact that the ARC-170 pretty much became the standard Clone Starfighter (for lack of a better term), and the Clone Army eventually turned into the Imperial Army - so it would stand to reason that the Empire would have some ARCs inventoried somewhere..

Too bad the NGE is here to stay.. till the next time SOE decides to "Upgrade" the game futher

If you have the quest badge and 4333 pilot skills, it doesn't matter which faction you are.
