Hi guys

Ive been trying to get enough hides to make myself some ris armour, so ive been keeping a char logged at the reclusive gurk king spawn on lok logging in a couple of times a day to kill it, and travenilling to the other spawn to get both of them.

looted a stack of 8 on my second attempt, but ever since then I have not had any hides drop from these guys... I have now looted 20 in a row over the last week with no further hide drops... My invent is not full, and im not using a loot macro... Ive given up until i can figure out why its not working anymore, butdoes anyone know if there is an issue with these guys?

Where is this spawn at? I need some of those hides myself.

Im on Starsider so I wont be competition for ya and can post here if I have any luck looting any.

don't bother with the static spawn, just drive around north of the volcano and look for nest's. Most of the gurk nest's spawn a reclusive gurk king. I once had over 250 hides on my vendor so you can get them faster that way. Have fun.

I have some peko peko albatross feathers available if anyone wishes to make an offer. I understand they can be used in crafting RIS armor.

not every gurk is supposed to drop....thats what makes the armor rare...ive killed over 80 giant dune kimoglias and still haven't gotten a single scale

yes i know the drops are rare on all ris related things (my main problem is the peko peko feathers took me three days to find one albatross- not nessicary i know but im going for the best set possible)

What makes me feel there is a issue with the gurk kings is that if I use my ranger to loot, I get about a 50/50 chance of getting a stack of gurk king hides loot. however, i only tried my ranger because i camped the spawns for a week with my main fighter char, and got a 0% chance of loot, at 20 in a row with nothing I gave up.

It was onlybecause i have wildtheories about some of SOE's lines of code that I tried it on another char, and looted just fine. I am only saying what i experienced, and what i experienced leads me to belive there is a bug in the system somewhere regarding some chars ability to loot. *shrug*
