You: back basically i have a special collectors edition of swg
You: from a while back and i noticed that the goggles in the japenese version of the collectors edition that you recieve in game unique to the collectors edition are different

You: i think the goggles you get from the collectors edition are unique to the disk but i wanted to check also because if i get a copy of the japenese version does thier edition allow full connecton to uk servers

You: nope just the us version - that was my question do i need to get the japenese version of the collectors edition to get thier goggle types

TSR Nash K.: You cant register two collectors edition under same account.
You: no i would buy a new copy of the japenese version register that then transfer my existing account to it using char transfer
You: hence why i need to know if i do will i still have access to infinity or just japenese servers if there is now way to get the new goggles on my existing collectors edition account

You: in real simple terms: i have the collectors edition (us/uk) version. The japanese collectors edition has different goggles (shown to you in that link) i want to be able to have those new goggles so can I a) get them on my original collectors edition or b) have to buy the japenese collectors edition in order to have the goggles. and c) do the japanese editions have full access to all servers because as I play on a uk server (infinity) there would be no point me buying a copy of the Japanese version only to find i cant access Infinity.

TSR Nash K.: You wont be able to play on European server on your Japanese version.
You: right so there is no point in me buying one. is there anyway we can get thier versions of goggles in game on our uk versions of the collectors editions or are we stuck with the ones we have

TSR Nash K.: You have to contact in game for your Goggle issue. You will only recieve the goggles that comes with your collectors edition.

Lol, I find your post funny on 2 levels.
1. CSR's who don't know doodily squat and talk to you in a circular fashion.
2. Funny that you'd go to all the trouble to buy a Japanese version and pay to have your character transfered to that account just to receive a slightly different look to your character that most people won't even notice unless they're right up on you.

Mirth The primary reason for this is that, back in 2003,
people were finding ways to trade their goggles to other players with regular accounts.
SOE wanted the easiest, and most efficient way to prevent this.
To do so, they made it easy ...
any CSR etc, can just look at the account code.
If it shows as a Special edition .. they are supposed to have the goggles.
If it doesn't .. they should not have them.
This empowered SOE reps to make sure that no 'work arounds' were bypassing the rule.
Though they rely mostly on program code, to check for the exact same thing.
But that code is different for various versions of the special edition.
And SOE is .. "unmotivated" to 'program in' the exception, so that various special editions can receive character transfers from other special edition versions, while including the different goggles.
As it is:
Each edition has a unique code that only allows for goggles on that account 'at all' if it's a special edition, and if it's the correct goggles.
The first part is so that everyone that wanted to go buy a special edition would be 'assured' that everyone 'else' would recognize them 'for sure' as one of the special folks that bought the special version.
And the 2nd part is because SOE is lazy, apathetic, disorganized, poorly managed, prone to making excuses ...
and disinclined to share those excuses with 'us'.
And hence,
our common and shared sense of confusion over most of what SOE does and does not do.
