Thread: Rare Artifact Any quests/missions for this?

I know the Rare Artifact is a dropped item, but some older messages also indicated that there may be some NPC missions to obtain this. If these missions exist, can someone give me the details.

Any NPC with (Scientist) as its title and is able to talk to. Its random when he'll give you the mission, but you will get it, and you can do it multiple times. So far I havent looted one off anything, its rumored that you can, but I wouldnt bank on it.

I got it from an NPC in Mos Espa, in the section with the curved narrow street. Look for an NPC named: "<whatevername> (A Scientist)"
Not sure if the "<whatever> (A Criminal)" dudes give those too....

Criminals, Businessmen, Scientists, and others all give quests or different items I beleive. but scientists can be found all over, easiest to find is in Dant on the Mining Outpost, I think you can talk to that one.

Thanks all. For the one who asked about the criminal, he gives decent loot, including the cantina loud speaker.

I have one i did from an npc quest.. But the 2 others I looted off a dark jedi master.. and they look quite a bit different...

You might have a nice jewel there, rumor has it that the looted artifacts give increased chance to get the uber loot

I looted one from the Dark Jedi you kill at the end of the Yavin IV Light Jedi Quest (the one in the quenker cave) and got another from a mission but have been unable to find another.

about the chances of it increasingur uber loot, i dont think that works. I got my rare artifact a long time ago, and kept iton ym and never ever didi get anything good in loot. I finally gaveup on that scenario and put it in my house. and 3 days later, ilooted an armor exp 6 CA, counterattack 8 AA, one hand weapon speed 7 AA, musical mind enahncement 5 CA in about an hour lol... so that theory was way wrong. ifu ask me. keep it in your house. lol
