bugged for now pilot forum says a fix is coming for next publish

The fix is slated for Publish 24, always has been since it was revealed that they had figured out the problem. My guess is that since they are upgrading the Y-8 with 2 extra turrets at that time as well, and if they can figure it out they will also be fixing the up/down movement in the ship (and they are increasing space mining yeild for all ships) that they figured it would be best to wait to fix the quest until the ship was in top shape.

anyone get the y-8 quest to work with this patch. I went up but did not get any waypoints for the escort, deleted the mission and re got it still no waypoints.

The fix is supposed to go in with Pub 24... several other fixes for POB ships are going in at the same time so even if you could get one now I would suggest waiting.

A couple more weeks and it will all be better... beleve me I have been chomping at the bit to get one.

I'm on the second part where i have to mine 250 silicaecous asteroid. I sat there blasting it for 5 min and nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Or that asteroid is played out, it just won't spawn more chunks. If that's the case, destroy the asteroid (annoying though that can be) and shortly after it disappears, a new one will spawn which you can get the material from).

Asteroids tend to play out at about the 1/3 - 1/2 condition area. To tell condition, just /examine the asteroid that you have targeted.
