Probably for the same reason they didn't give out open faced rebel flight helmets. They ran into some sort of problems with making open faced helmets like that(even though the ROTJ helmet works...before they removed it from the game)

i fail to see the logic in what you said. chitin armor helms have both an open face and a transparent component to them. i think that it was just a design choice to make rebel flight helmets that way. I mean hell, even the rebel flight suits lack the pack that is attached to the front as seen in the movies. I think that the Devs are all Imperials and just want them to have all the best stuff.
The maurader battle armor is open faced, the swoop helm, the padded armor helm......

They dont have it in game because they dont want to take the time to resize it to fit all the various alien head shapes.
Yeah yeah I know... humans where the only ones with them in the movie, but for some reason theyinsist on them fitting everyone before they will add it to the game. This is the reason Rebs dont get the normal pilot helm at novice pilot, like Imps do, and its the reason they removed the Imperial hat for a long time. The devs just dont seem to realise that most of the rebel gear was Human specific just like the Imperial stuff, because until return of the Jedi, the Rebellion was almost entirely humans, just like the Empire.
Be nice if they would jsut add this stuff as human specific, and then make some extra stuff for the aliens. The mon cals have their own suit of armor for crying out loud, its mislabeled as rebel recon armor but its really just a mon cal military uniform, its not even supposed to be armor, its made out of wetsuit material for Siths sake, so why not give the other aliens some armor from their home planets too. They could give eveyone the Alderran security helmet (tantive 4 white helmet), because with its bulky shape,I dont see why all races couldnt wear that one, or the black Imperial navy security helmet for that matter. The Xwing helmet on the other hand should never be able to be worn by a mon cal or twilek, no way they could get the head in that thing (they should have a helm from their home planet that would fit them), but all the other races could.

Hmm where to start in you apparant lack of knowledge. I don't ever see the rebel recon armor as being actual Mon Cal military armor. I'm just curious on where you get that from. The only thing about that armor even close to being for a Mon Cal is the helmet. The idea too that an X-Wing helmet could never be worn by other species than human is wrong as well. The X-Wing series books have an incredible amount of species wearing the helmets. Now you are probably saying that the EU isn't apart of the movies or game so they cannot be used. Well if that were true then explain how characters from the EU are actually in swg? Yep some actually are, in case you never noticed. Yes the movies depict mostly humans because well it's easier film wise to just plop in a human. However in the war room of ROTJ there are at least 4 other species there besides humans. The rebellion is not like the Empire in being prejudice against other species besides human. In the advanced age of Star Wars do you think it's actually impossible to have a helmet that comes in different sizes? Do you think they could have the same sized helmet for Luke as they did for Porkins?
It's irritating to me to read that humans feel they are the only ones who should be able to wear items from the movies. There are other species in the game that people choose to play because they either like the species or don't want to play a normal run of the mill human character. Just because we never saw these species wearing the item in the movies should not limit them in this game. We all know that canon is pretty much nill in this game now with ships, armor, and other things. I know some will say that only human imps should wear ST armor as well. When the game first came out I would have to agree. But now seeing that pretty much anything and everything is being added to the game I don't have as strong of a view to it anymore. The game is about having fun and immersing yourself in Star Wars. No one should be punished for playing a different species. Yea the helmets may be a little odd looking but hey that's the advantage of having armor that is molded in plastic. It can be made to fit all sizes of heads.
