Thread: No fix for recyclers?!?
1)It's my understanding that the recycler construction itself isn't bugged, it's the subcomponents (specifically the agitator motor) that can't be assembled. I heard a report of somebody paying 1K for a finished agitator motor on the bazaar (heck of a deal) and was able to use it to craft the recycler without problems.
2)
pull all staff and do nothing but fix bugs that are in game at this moment. no new content, just simply fix the game.
You do realize that the people who fix bugs, and the people who write new content, are often not the same people?

yes, i am aware that there are seperate personnel that work on new content and ppl that work on the bugs. If there are so many bugs, and there are, then they need to stop and fix it...
if a truck has a flat tire and there is a load on it...then why do you still continue to put more of a load on a flat tire? 2 choses...take the first load off and fix the tire or stop putting more load on and fix the tire as is.
or if you are cleaning a room do you continue bringing in more stuff when you haven't gotten the room cleaned in the first place.
What if the people who are writing more new content aren't trained enough or capable enough to fix bugs? What if SOE hired them because they can come up with new content, but can't sort through millions of lines of code to figure out why you don't get expected item Z when combining components W, X, and Y?
Do you actually stop those people, spend what could be months or potentially even a YEAR to train them to fix bugs, before letting them go on the code?
Quite honestly, I'd prefer the people who are more qualified to make new content than fix bugs do just that. Forcing people who don't have extensive bugfix experience on such complicated software to fix bugs means they'll probably introduce two bugs for every one they fix and the game will be even MORE screwed up than it is now.
Not to mention, I GUARANTEE you that if SOE stopped all new content development on this game for even six months, people would bail out complaining about a lack of new content.
I'm willing to bet that if the devs completely dropped new content development for, say, 6 months just to fix bugs, that their subscription numbers will be lower than if they continued on the current new content/bugfix path they have been.
If developers switched solely to bugfixing:
1)There would be nothing like RotW to draw in new players.
2)Inevitably somebody's bug wouldn't get fixed and they'd quit anyway.
3)Some people would simply get bored with the game and drop because there's nothing new to do.
In the end, for SOE it's going to come down to what gives them the best subscription numbers in the short- to medium-term... and for them a 100% devotion to bugfixing while sacrificing new content probably isn't the means to that end.
