Items And Loot Archive

Well, after I tried out the new loot kits, I did notice the loot kit ate the items, as they vanished right after I put them in, and I've heard many others saying things about that happening, as well.

But, I also noticed that if I tried putting in the same item again, the kit refused to take.Is it like the old loot kits, in that it eats the item, only these ones simply don't give confirmation of the item being put in, or list the things that have already been put in?
