I was suprised that the metal recycler when assembled doesn't look like as the screen we saw on the publish 12 Loot revamp phase 2 ..... :/

This is like a ship reactor named smelting machine

I try to combine ressources bu each time it makes me 200 to all stats and a ressource class : Smelted copper, and other...

If someone have crafted it already and know how it works could you help me plz

If it is like that all the time i don't see whatthe use of this item..... :/

Imagine you have two stacks of different grind steel you wan to use for, lets say structure modules.

Normally you would have to make two schematics, one for each steel, and restart the factory when the first one is done.

With a metal recycler, you can make one generic big stack out of the two steel stacks and only have to do one (bigger) factory run.

ok i guess for grinding a profession it is usefull, for profession that doesn't need quality ressources it is good too.

BUT for profession that requires quality ressources (doctor as an example) i don't see the utility lol....

recyclers was added in game to help in grinding (well more or less) but since they are so very hard to make, they turned into colector items.

The recyclers are great for chefs, not the metal recycler in particular but the flora recycler is awesome. There are many items that chefs make (and other profession I am sure) that require subcomponents that when made have no stats, and thus can be made with resources that have junk stats.

It allows chefs to combine small stacks of resources left over from crafting into large stacks of subcomponent grade resouces.

Architects also come to mind with crafting structure modules.

Master weaponsmiths probably cannot make a great deal of use out of these from what I know about the profession, correct me if I am wrong there.

Anyways, while the recyclers wont allow you to mix and match stats (think shipwright reverse engineering), they do have a very useful function to some crafters.

200?!!? accross the board and NOT averagestats as we were promised! - bleh. I was hoping to convert high end meats from one type to another and keep the stats, not ruin it.

Ever seen a BE try to get 20k units of domesticated meat for a single Flavor enhancer run?

That completely kills my desire to build one now.

I think this a great idea. I would have done it differently, but I have an imagination and don't actually have to deliver product

Any way, I'm a droid engineer and a shipwright, and both professions have plenty of schematics for which the quality of the resources have no bearing on the crafted item. It will be really nice to not have to delete all those little stacks of resources anymore, but smelt them into a nice big stack.

In addition, we can smelt a bunch of metal into one big lump and feed it to factories for runs of items for which quality means nothing.

Corsair's on Lok. They seem to drop them with a decent frequency. You also get the small power motor from them (very common) and you need four heating elements from Binayre's on Talus.

As to the look of the finished product, I too have to admit to being very disapointed that it's a shipwright's power coupling. I'm sure there was a more appropriate graphic in-game. I was hoping for an impressive looking machine, like you'd find at Jabba's or something.

I find it quite functional - of course, it's not for every crafting profession, but nontheless there are tons of items in game where quality of material does not matter. For those it does, then obviously this isn't the product to use first.

I'd be much happier if they'd simply change the graphic and allow you to use it stand-alone, i.e. not require it to be in your inventory. You drop the metal on it, it drops the finished product in your inventory. They are a nice start, but for the effort involved you really need a bit more polish.

I really need one of these how hard is it to get off the Corsair's on Lok?
