Thread: an idea: turn locked containers to treasure hunt generators

just an idea to improve something that is already in game, with a good potential but pratically useless.
If u have ever played Ultima Online, then u have prolly already tried what i am proposing and u well know
how it is funny.
Pratically,by opening alocked container ( with the help of a smuggler )u would (sometime )get a kind of treasure map.
Then u would need a ranger to get where the X is. Once there, starting to dig u would get a mob spawn and, after them, ushouldget urtreasure.
There is something similar already in game, but anyone hasever used a treasuremap knows that they are just an annoyingwaste of time.
First of all, Devs should greatly improve their reward ( nice SEA for example,pearls, and something like 200-400k cr
and mob's CL. Moreover, there would be also more content for 2 professions that will soon get a revamp, and more group action as mobs spawned should not be soloable. Locked containers would become something not automatically deleted when looted and everyone would have his chance toget something tasty without being MBH.

A revamped Treasure Map system with the new game systems the have developed for quests on Kashyyyk would be a really nice thing.

even if some of the loot would be unique decorating items, like unique rare paintings, statues, or sculptures.

I like this idea.
Im not for making people stronger. It takes away the skill part of the game.

well,once you have introduced the mechanism, rewards can be something random in a wide range of items, enhancements,extremely good armor/weapon components, decorations, or a mix ....it would becool anyway
I proposed ranger as secondary profession because i imagine him/her to be able to read old and ruined indications on a geographic map, but it is just a suggestion. A smuggler would be fine too.It would be funnier if they could make it so that many different kinds of mobs could spawn, so that players would never be sure about whatdanger they willface and what tactics/weapons/template to use.

I quite like the treasure map function in the game since I once looted a nice dot pistol from one of the boxes I found. The downside is thatI always feel obliged now to go dig it up just in case there is something good...
I am less convinced about it been profession specific to ranger. I would imagine it more as smuggler kind of thing if it was going to be profession specific, with the smuggler pirate connections..
It would be nice if the treasure hunt was expanded with multi part maps that have to be looted from different mobs and then put together to get the WP for treasure..
Or multistage maps which direct you to different planets to find the next waypoint.
Maybe with a super loot at the end of it.

This game seriously need character enhancing loots. Not a rare item to display at your house. I want something that will enhance my abilities. So yes, a revamp tresure system is an awesome idea. Please make the reward worth it.

i agree , pretty much everything is group needed , have you tried finding a group that wants todo one thing without them saying "ok , well if we do that , we have todo this fater" its annoying , i pay to play , not spam for a group todo sumit i could have solo'ed pre-cu

How do current treasure maps work? I went to the WP and there was nothing to be found. Do I have to type /dig or something else?
