Thread: Jedi Crystals: Are some colors more rare than others?

What is the difference between colors of crystals, if any? I understand that there is some hidden quality about them that you must be a Jedi to detect...but is that somehow related to color? And, is it in any way related to the quality of the crystal that you can see when you examine it? Right now I am stockpiling crystals that have high numbers that I can see, but I would like to sell most of them and keep only a few for my personal use. Do the crystals need to be the same color to upgrade the beginning lightsaber? Is the color of the lightsaber blade related to the color of the crystals? Is there any reason to have several colors, except having a favorite color or two?

Nothing really grand about colors other than maybe the special village quest crystal * teal green* more important is the damage crystals the clear ones. Just fyi the dark colors have thinner more tight looking blades and the light color has a fat looking blade, more a prefrence thing. the examine window shows the name of the color such as "dark blue" or " light blue" the higher numbers last longer from decay but more important is the damage if anything

The colour crystals just determin the colour of the ls blade and dont add anything to the saber's stat's at all, for the ones which reduce force cost and improve damage you will need to find clear crystal.
Also a high condition on a crystal doesnt mean it is a premium or flawless crystal, though saying that i have got better tunes out of my last 2 poor crystals than i have my quality ones.
Also you can put a pearl which is looted from a giant canyon or ancient krayt and in theory these should be better than crystals.
So what you really need to be stockpiling are the clear crystals or krayt pearls, i cant remember all the npc's which drop what crystal tough if you pop on over to the jedi forum you will find a faq at the top which if memory serves me you will find a guide on who drop what crystal.

the teakl green crystal - is actually named sunridder's destiny, only obtained through the village quest - hope this helps

As color crystals go, I've looted a lot of red and yellow ones. The blues and purples seem more rare, but that is just me.

Just curious (as I am noton the Jedi path)--what about the brown color crystals? I've looted a few of those on occasion, and I thought I remembered reading a post saying that they were more rare than the others. I certainly cannot say I've seen a brown lightsaber being wielded.

The "brown" is really a dark yellow, guildmate sent me screens of all the colors he had, green/dark green, teal(sunrider), yellow/dark yellow(the brown), the purple(pink)/dark purple, the two blues, the two reds..Ive heard of orange but never seen it. As far as I know there is no "white" or close to white for color.

Ok well I have three crystals which do not have a color. All the rest of them have some identifiable looking color. When I examine them they do not say "clear" or "white" (or any other color for that matter....). Are those "clear" ones then?

I haven't experienced one type of color crystal drop being rarer than any other. Sunrider's Destiny is obviously "rare", but it isn't a drop, it is obtained through a quest. Here's a post I made a while back regarding color crystals (screen shots of them):
