Thread: Thoughts on the Loot fixes and reasons for the day delay in getting it up and working...

Here is a theory I have been running around in my mind the last day.... Yesterday the patch went live and Loot was supposedly fixed, yet it wasn't. Also coming with the patch was the exploit to take UBER weapons from NPCs. If the loot was truly fixed then it would have been possible to do the following:

1. Buy a new "throw away" character. One day only use.
2. Use the new character to get an Uber weapon (+3000 damage survival knife, etc) and loot everything you can quickly (pearls, crystals, CAs, etc.)
3. distribute these loots to others through a network....dispersed in "legit" means and make them dissapear
4. "throw-away' character is banned but money is well spent on loot.

Now, being optimistic, I think the DEVs may have seen this possibility so they delayed the loot fix until they could kill the exploit - hense the fixes came out today (with hopefully anyone who exploited being banned at this point).


Here is the problem I see - COMMUNICATION!!!!!!!!!! If this is the case then TELL US!. That would stop the constant (and deserved) whining about loot, and the Devs in general. I play EQ2 every once in a while and am amazed how (even with its huge amount of flaws) the communication is 100x better than here. And both are SOE products.

Just tell us what is going on.....

that is all I ask and I will stick around....but being hidden in the dark only causes me (and others) to get frustrated and eventually quit (Two very good friends who have been here from day 1 have recently quit due to this problem).
