What's the cheapest you can find one and where? What are the specs on them...as far as damange, armor, etc. And finally...what does it take to fly one?

The YT-1300 is a POB ship that has two turrets {top and bottom} a pilot and operations chair {pilot flies, ops works the missiles and droid programs}.All of the components that are on said ship are what you find and load in, so the results on the damage, armor, speed, power generation and armament are you to you.
The ship itself is divided into three main rooms, all of which are pretty small when you compare the ship to the Decimator {Imperial Master Pilot} and the Nova Courier {Rebel Master Pilot}. Mass on the YT-1300 is the standard 5 million mass points, as is all of the other POB ships.
You must be a Master Pilot {Neutral only} in order to generate and fly the ship. These chassis usually run between 500k-900k on my server {Eclipse}, but your server price might vary depending on where you play.

You mean Flight Artistry in the Freelance Pilot skill area? also that was a great info but I just misunderstood one part, do you need multiple people to fly and operate the ship? and while in flight can you move around the cabin inside the ship?

Yup, you need flight artistry, and you don't need multiple people to fly it only to use the turrets and you can get out your chair and walk about it if you want, even while flying

The YT is only really good for game content. It lacks as a multiplayer ship in that the pilot doesnt fire any weapons. This makes flight combat very hard to coordinate. It's great for taking lower tier pilots up for decent xp runs but if you really want to be a neutral pilot and help the lower tier pilots up for xp runs use an M22 Krayt. Biggest boost of the YT is the 5 million mass. With that sort of mass you can literally fit any part on it regardless of mass.

thats stupid, so you cant solo in it? hm screw that, i'll go with that M22

Also, allthough you can get up from your captains chair whilst in space and walk around your ship, the ship does slow to a deadstop if you get out of your chair. Alot of pilots have been screaming for this to change.
Two of the most wanted changes to MP ships is to have autopilot work whilst nobody's in the captains chair and also to have at least one gun for the pilot.
The Y-8 does have a gun that the pilot can use though. Which is probably why so many players covet the Y-8. Despite it's handling abilities.
