Player books would give some of us more "mental" people a release point, plus it would be a cool new "loot kit" system to add. I just am tired of storing stories in my emails
Besides a book system would make sharing stories that much easier with one another, through publication.
Factions/Guilds could have charters for guests or members to read too.
Maybe im ranting on a stupid subject, but everyone is reaping cool rewards nowadays, so maybe, if it cross my fingers and scream loud enough

I loved book in Ultima Online already.
I completely agree with you that player books (or maybe even better datapads?) should be added to the game. A limited text range would suffice.

Ya d-pads would work (I mean this is supposed to be kinda spacey, right?)
I do not think it would be that difficult coding-wise either. There is already player-entered, world-visible text floating around the galaxy (Bios, Vendor Titles, Auction desc...) But with all the things that need fixing that STILL dont work, perhaps this is a last priority on the DEVs list.
But man would I love to beta it for them if they were willing to try it...

Did someone say Books and Datapads?
A cannot agree more that player written books or datapads would be a marvellous addition to SWG. It is my most cherished wish that they be implemented sooner rather than later.
In the thread above, you'll find an outline proposing their creation, example schematics for them, screenshots of the art assets already present within the game, and more importantly, posts from KStarfire on the feasibility of bringing them into the game.
Please, take a look and give your support. Any suggestions, comments, questions and problems (datapad related) welcome.
