I was wondering if someone could help m out. I am currently in need of some DOT weapons and was wondering what is the best area to hunt for valuable Ranged Loot.

ive looted a few on the vetter, you could always try there. plus there is a lot of other good loot on the vette along with the dot weapons, so you have a better chance at getting something decent, even if it isnt a dot weapon, as opposed to sith thugs who rarely drop things that are that great.

I beg to differ about the Sith Thugs I looted this on the recent phase 3

Sith thugs would be the place for dot weapons i would agree.
Looted multiple VK's with decent dots and the best would be a Spraystick with str299 mind poison and 122% potency

Also looted loads of nice ca/aa from them.

The Corvette....I get at least 3-5 GOOD ranged dots when I go.

that's not ranged is it?

and I belive krayt ancients have been know to drop some exceptional ranged weapons too...cant verify this myself though.

rebel city guards have been dropping some dot rifles and pistols. in thelast week, i have scored (all mind fire or poison)
laser rifle and carbine
spray stick
sr pistol x2
bowcaster x2
ee3 carbine
e11 rifle

none of them are 'super uber', but they are all decent. just watch out, every once in a while you hit a bad ass. med armor, high resists, etc.
