Would it be possible to increase the distance you can mount a bike to like 5 meters please? I don't know how many times now i've been running from an ancient krayt and got the message You are too far away to mount this, or whatever it is. I'm sure that a lot of people have died because its set to like 2 meters.

For realism reasons I like the current distance. Having an increased distance would make it too easy for people to take their bike and escape a danger. If you find yourself in face of a danger, 10m from your bike, and need to escape, this is your fault and you have to face the consequences. I mean, in real life, if you are doing a safari, and you get out of your car and walk away from it to watch lions as close as you can, and if the lions don't like it and decide to show it to you andattack, you wouldn't be able to teleport to your car, you'd have to run or face the lions.
I thinkhaving a very short distance for swoop mounting is more immersive and challenging.

you mean to be able to leap on you bikes from 16.4 feet away? Should this be in the Jedi forum 
I agree with the above poster, use of a bike while hunting takes care. If you insist on keeping the bike out while hunting you are risking it being destroyed and if you need it to get away and die somerwhere between 2 meters and 5 meteres, then you ran away too late. Run earlier.

While I'm relatively indifferent about extending the mounting distance, I question the other people in this thread taking a "How realistic is it?" approach.
I can lunge 20 meters and knock someone down with my bare hands. I can hit anything within 10 meters. I can apply medicine from about 3 to 6 meters. I can lob disease and poison - accurately - around 40 to 50 meters.
The reality is that SWG meters are an arbitrary unit to indicate relative distance. Arguing that you shouldn't be able to "teleport" 15 feet to your vehicle because you can't in real life is kind of silly when you can already "teleport" 9 feet in the game. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I get in/on a vehicle IRL, I pretty much have to be close enough to touch it first.
(And if you can teleport 9 feet in real life, please PM me as I have a "job" for you.

The question at hand isn't "How realistic is it?" The question is "How reasonable is it?" I don't think 5m is significantly more unreasonable than 3m. Honestly, though, unless this is something that the devs can change by going into a table somewhere and changing a "3" to a "5" it's also something I'd rather NOT see addressed ahead of many lingering bugs. If it were to be addressed in the short term, I'd rather see it as part of an overhaul of ranges in general. (In other words, right now we have inconsistancies where touching distance is an arbitrary number between 3 and 10 for most purposes - I'd like to see one value chosen as the limit of touch range and that value be used for all relevant purposes - harvesters/factories, vehicles, heals, melee combat, etc.)

Okay, read the threat. I said 5 meters, not 16.4. And i agree with above about the lunge thing, thats not realistic.
