For those who have looted scales since the new patch...Di you loot them from random GDK's or did you work a pile of bones to get a GDK to spawn and loot them from there?

The 2 that dropped 16 scales were random spawns, which spawn 3 at a time, no bonelairs were visible.

i dont bother working lairs hopping for a gdk pop at the end. i just look for random spawns.

GDK's are only random spawns from what I understand. I have never seen one spawn from a pile of bones.
350 plus kills, 43 scales

sometimes mine disappear on me when they walk away
annoying as all hell

How do you find them so well? I was looking for at least 1.5 hours and couldn't find any near the volcano or the imp outpost.

From my experence over the past 10 months of hunting them, yes, random spawns. When u get one, stay there, they typically spawn 4-5 times before a new mob appears.

Definitely more luck in the southern part of the planet. Volcano all the way west to the imp outpost. Even when I was a ranger, I would have better luck just flying around on my speeder tabing (tab key)all red targets that appeared. Spawns of more than one (or very close together) seem to be more often. There have been times I have had 3-4 GDK's on me at once.. Gotta love the HAMMER

If you use /taunt as they start to walk away when the HAM gets low, they will usually stop in their tracks and you can run up and finish them off.
