Thread: Clarification Needed Regarding Current Loot Tables.

Glancing around at someof the other threads here, I'd say that the loot tables are pretty screwy right now. No official word, though, as far as I know.

As a good many of us Master Looters have noticed lately, loot from our favorite spots appears to be out-of-whack.
For instance. At the Canyon Corsair Camp, I looted 12, count them 12 of the same pair of same colored work gloves, and that was it outside of a color crystal drop.
At Erran Sif, I continually looted identical base Vibro Axes from most of the NPCs I killed in there. The only thing that wasn't a base Vibro Axe clone was a VA with a light DoT on it.
Typically, I'd loot a wide variety of items from both spots. Like broken Meson Telescopes, junky Carbines, Republic Blasters,etc. But now its very predictable, to the point where I know I'm going to loot the same exact item that I looted off of the three corpses before it.
Now, I ask for clarification because I want to know if something is wrong or if this is intended, now.

All i know is its whack and its gonna drive pearl and crystal prices thru the freaking roof again...So much for the loot revamp welcome the new loot revamp lol

Yep, they are working to an extent. After a couple days of killing NS, still no crystals, but still getting dot weapons and CA/AA's still drop on the pretty rare occassion.
Sith still drop CA/AA's, and I've found a couple off Rebel npcs since the patch too.

I've noticed it too, and I'm not a loot whore........mostly. I do take a day a week to just do looting, for the fun of it. I think it cycles, to keep the economy going. Take the ever-dropping Luke and Han posters. They're about worthless now, but if they cycle them out of the loot table, they'll gain in value. Maybe the idea is to get things into the market, to a certain level, then cut back on the drops. Otherwise you'd either never get one, without spending a fortune or killing 1000 NPCs, or they'd be so worthless that you couldn't give them away.
Seems to happen on a somewhat regular basis. I remember way back when adhesives dropped pretty regularly (I got three rug and two gong adhesives in two weeks), but now you don't see them much at all. Same with crystals and pearls, they seem to cycle. Once the market reaches a certain level, SOE pulls back on the drops, and starts pushing other things. Maybe it's a way to keep a vendor from AFK looting the same spawn over and over, without having to actually work to keep his vendor stocked.

Personally I think the loot tables are gimped...I keep getting loot messages for certain drops that read: you have looted tt% (or some such) from x. It's hard enough to base pricing of enhanced weapons, withoutsome all of a sudden becoming gimped.
now I know why I hoard more weaponsmith loots than I use...so 'tarded. guess we'll see.

I agree things are out of whack.
I just want to clarify that the one thing that is dropping (for me anyway) is crystals!
I have 2 1/2 backpacks full of them from this last week alone. It got to the point that I considered deleting them but then thought better.
Got them off the Canyon Corsairs and Tuskens mostly.
