I have been looking to acquire a Medicine Crafter's Apron, and I have been pondering the characteristics of the Crafter's Apron Schematic.

Does the Master Tailor select its purpose upon creation, or is this not the right schematic at all?

I appreciate the help. I am starting a Business partnership and need to increase my abilities.

The schematic is already pre-designed what skill it will be used for. The only time you can find out is once the tailor learns the schematic. I have bought 5 of them once, and 3 were for tailors. You just role the dice with them.
