Thread: New SW lore I'd like to see with the combat upgrade :)

I know a lot of people are thinking this lately, especially seeing some of the new CU stuff in like last weeks friday feature. I'd like to see some of the classic and deep Star Wars lore that was added with the Knights of the Old Republic series added to the game not only in patches but with the CU. Already I see some of this in the form of Massassi (not KOTOR exactly, but EU lore) items... Czerka weapons (woot), stims that boost skills temporarily (like the adrinal amplifier, strength amp in KotOR) and more.
More specificly, I'd like to see some of the excellent Echani lore included with weapons, armor perhaps and other things. Also more equipable items beyond just weapons/armor. We have a few things now, like the arm-band (I don't remember the name lol). Less a focus on augmentations like CA/AA's and more visual stuff. Like Neural Bands on the head that have their own graphic and perhaps increase Mind secondaries by by 50pts or something. Other things that were in the Star Wars universe but really taken use of by the KOTOR series. Since that was a Star Wars game, all the lore and items and history introduced with that game can is now in the huge database of star wars 'stuff' that could be included
More arm bands with mods (don't have to be anything spectacular, just with a look. This kind of stuff would also greatly enhanse the individuality of players in the game. I think everyone is tired of seeing nothing but comp everywhere they look lol. Implants that can be used to slightly augment some stats. SWG has an increadible ammount of stats for all kinds of things that could be modified or added to. I think it should be taken advantage of 
Let me conclude by saying that I for one don't want to see this game become extremely loot based. We should never loose sight that crafting is not only the heart but the base of this game and loot should never over-shadow that. So everything I suggest I think should come in the form of skill based scematics, loot based scematics, loot-kit type items, sub-componants for crafted scematics and more.
So heres, in essense, what I would like to see.
+ More content/items based on the Star Wars universes vast and historic lore.
+ More recognizable names and places and things, especially some brought in with the wonderful KotOR series (like Pazaak!

+ More equipable items with a visual componant. Arm bands, head equipment, implants etc. Items that not only provide variety but make everyone look more individual instead of just 300'000 comp armor suits running around as with now.
+ Devs are on the right path with including Massassi lore/items. Czerka weapons. Would especially like to see Mandalorian stuff and especially Echani lore/items
Everyone loves the Echani. While not introduced by KotOR, definately expanded upon.
A bump or sign by people who agree wound be nice. Add your own ideas for new items/weapons/equipment/lore
Most of all I want to see a large variety of wearable stuff. ESPECIALLY lore based, and would LOVE to see some head equipment beyond helms. Like how you see in KotOR 1/2

I agree that this game should be craft based and not loot based. Also I agree with the SW lore and more wearable iteams such as the one listed. One thing that should be added is holsters and straps to put on guns. There would be an option to store gun in the holster and it will appear there. It can only hold small fire arms, ex pistols and small carbines. The straps would be for bigger guns ex rifles and larger carbines. This would allow you to sling your gun over your shoulder or over your back. It should also NOT count as backpack or bandolier so you may look cool
and still store your weapon. Also the holster should be on the hip or should like the undercover cops. This shoulder hoster will also NOT count as a back pack or bandolier. You can have two weapon holders on at once, ex hip holster holding pistol and should strap holding a rifle.

Good ideas, but all because it was in KOTOR, doesn't mean it should be in SWG. Remember, KOTOR was 4,000 years before this game...many of the stuff that was in KOTOR could be long gone in this time period.

Great ideas! Modify certain stuff to be more advanced in the 4000+ years since the KOTORs, but still very nice ideas.

I'd prefer most of the KotOR stuff to stay in KotOR; the two game systems are different, and much of the stuff that was made up for KotOR isn't exactly true to the spirit of Star Wars. I wouldn't mind seeing clothing/armor attachments disappear from SWG, either.
Equipment is nice, but it's supposed to be you and your abilities that determines your success, not loot that "magically" increases your skills/attributes. Despite the fact that I use them on a daily basis because the developers can't balance players to creatures to save their lives, Doc buffs still throw me off (I hunt unarmored).
Some bio-engineered clothing I can understand (camo/maskscent, creature taming (mommy?), bleed defense, stun/melee) others I don't (cover?, injury/wound treatment? how?) Some of the foods introduced in the chef revamp also don't make any sense to me.
I've got a laser carbine that gives bonii to Volley Fire, Group Terrain Negotiation, and Rescue. Why?
I'm not against visors, helmets/hats, armbands etc; I just don't want them to be anything more than decoration. Maybe allow some them to take some of the more sensible BE tissues.
And on the topic of new weapons... Art Team, try to stop just modeling weapons based on the latest Guns & Ammo Annual, please. If you're going to draw from real-world sources, at least take the time to alter the model so that it isn't *instantly* recognizable. Throw some chrome on those dead-black rifle models.
Yeah, I am a bit of a curmudgeon. :-)

They aren't even adding the standard Star Wars armor to the game with the CU, they practically just pulled random non-SW looking sci-fi rebel armor out of their azz and put a rebel insignia on it. If they won't even do that then I don't think there's much hope for this too soon.

i had the idea of an archeological dig dungeon. finding thinks that could eb RE'd. droid schematics anyone?
we all liked that lil one in KOTOR1 (prefered HK-47 more) sith fighter schem (so pretty...) and other gear, i feel 'twould be a nice touch.

but what about the really cool rebel ensign helmets those would be awesome
and more stuff thats actually seen more and is more recognizable as being starwars material
