counter attack is a skill from swordman as far as i know, and in order for that skill to aply to you, you need to pick that proffession AND be useing a weapon you get certificat for from swordsman.

example:

fencer has block as there "main" defencive skill, but it only works if you are holding/useing a weapon from the fencer skill tree

hope it makes sence

I understand that. What I want to know is if the suit of armor I am wearing gives me +10 to lets say block and it shows up under my skills will it work?

The only one of use for a pistoleer would be dodge, as it is the secondary defensive skill mod associated with pistoleer and fencer, that is if you are wielding either a pistol (or a fencer weapon). Dodge caps at 125 whether it be through in game stacking or with sea's.

Counterattack is Swordsman and Carbineer, and it is actually pretty handy. Dodge is Pistol and Fencer. Block is Rifleman and Pikeman, just so you know.

I don't know that youneed the base skill for passive mods though. Skill tapes for terrain negotiation work for Jedi with no scout skills. So does the Force Sensitive Survival Tree's terrain negotiation. The mask scent doesn't though, because you still need the ability to make the mod work. Based on that, I would think that the passive mod enhancement would work because you don't have to use a command to actually counterattack/block/dodge. I am probably wrong though. Those freakin mods have always bothered me because the only one that I see working is dodge. Block is hard to tell if it is an animation or actually blocking without checking the combat queue.

"Which did you like better? 'Jedi' or "The Empire Strikes Back?"
"Jedi"
"Blasphemy!"
"'Empire' had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, find out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All 'Jedi' had was a bunch of Muppets."
