Thread: So what's the deal on disabled BARCs?

I recently bought a BARC, so I was thinking about getting all the facts before I start treating it like my AV-21 (as in, never riding it while combatant/SF or on any "advanced" planet).

I know they can be repaired with BARC Repair Kits, which are quite expensive. However, I have heard that they can be repaired at vehicle garages from the Disabled condition. Is this true or not? I've heard conflicting reports, so I was wondering what the verifiable truth now is.

As far as i know when disabled they can be repaired at any garage. No repair kits needed. My friend has one and has had it disabled more then 3 times already lol.

its true for now..if you get ur barc disabled, pull it out at a garage and you can fix it for free. obviously this will change at some point, the barc repair kits are in the game for a reason. but for now enjoy the free fix at ur local garage.

I always got the impression that BARC repair kits were "for the field", as some people might like to put it. That is, if you're driving across Dathomir and a Nightsister shoots it out from under you, and you manage to get away, you have no ride. So you pop a repair kit on it and you bolt. It'll cost you cash, but you don't have to hike back 3000mthrough Rancors to the Science Outpost.

Sounds good. It seems quite a bit faster than a swoop, and even an AV-21 (I was surprised at how quick it was when I first rode it). Does anyone know for sure?

My guess would be on par with the AV-21 at best, it doesn't seem wise that a free vehicle that can never really be "destroyed" would be faster than the hardest vehicle in the game to get.

Of course, wise isn't really a word in the vocabulary of the devs, so ya never know.

I have yet to see any CSR comment in the numerous BARC posts to confirm that it's exploiting. Unless that happens, I'd consider the garage fix as something intended, and assume that the kits are for repairing them when they're blown up in the field.

How do you check the durability? Mine has a 1500HP and has always been 1500 from what I remember.

I know it takes a lot of damage while doing missions, one or 2 shot and it is almost all toasted, makes it hard to escape a spawn.
