Thread: Any chance repair tapes will ever work ?

Some might say repair mods like +9 armor repair clothing tape will never work. They base this onthe many other itemsleft over from Beta. Things like the resource Horn still sometimes can be found in magseal containers or off ewoks.


However thinking more about it, Im not so sure repair isnt going to be something that works in the future. My evidence...


1. Weaponsmith Toolbelt - This item wasnt in the game at launch. Its not an idea from beta. Yet even though it was added much later after launch, you'll notice a +5 weapon repair mod on it. Why add that if it was never meant to work and something leftover from beta ???


2. Smiths - Dont know if this is still the case, however I recall reading that a weaponsmith has a better chance to repair a weapon than I do. If thats the case, then we know there does exist a repair skill.


3. FS Repair line - Devs added repair skill boxes in Village FS boxes. Again, more proof that repairing stuff is a skill.


I think the weaponsmith belt is the key piece of evidence really. Why else would they add a +5 repair mod to something much further put into the game if repair skills were never meant to work ?


And why do I care do you ask ... Well Ive been collecting tapes for a long time and putting them in a suit. So far my suit totals add up to +26 weapon repair, +17 armor repair, and +11 clothing repair. Imagine the value this suit would have if those mods really really worked !
