Thread: Are tapes not dropping anymore ? Seems normal means pre-pub 13

Did devs ever clarify what they meant by "normal" for last patch that fixed loot drops ? I wish we could go back to publish 13 when drops were frequent. Seemingly we all assumed this was done on purpose by devs to get some sense of normally to the economy. However since last patch drops are way down.
And Im not just going by my personal experience. I watch the trade forums almost hourly sometimes. There are no longer auctions for 3 or 4 tapes all above +18 mods. Gone are the 8 flawless krayt pearl sales.
Me personally have noticed a severe nerf in tape drops. I like to farm the marauders on endor. Before the latest patch I was getting 2-3 tapes per buff session. Sometimes all 3 were useful, but always at least one was nice. Since the latest patch, I have yet to loot a single tape. All Im getting is junk dot rifles. I increased my time on endor for a week out of sheer desperation (this is how i pay my bills) and still no luck. Im up to 7 hrs a day killing marauders and only looted one tape in a week...a -7 polearm accuracy tape lol. Dont think that one will sell well.
In between marauders Ive visited Nyax or Aakuans on Talus. The aakuans are dropping rings again and clothes but the tapes are far fewer than before. I was getting 4-5 tapes per buff prior, now i got 1 in one night and 2 in the other and none were useful. Nyax seems totally broke. I havent seen any tapes that are obviously his for sale on trade forums. I and some friends have been keeping track of his drops. So far out of 31 kills we have 19 LLC, 9 grenades and 3 nothings...thats a far cry from before patch.
I sure wish drops would go back to publish 13 rates. It was nice to think I might have a chance at some +23 def vs dizzy tape as prices were starting to fall. No way will I ever be able to afford the 30+ million these tapes are going to demand.

I concur with your opinion whole heartidly....
GDK scales after publish 13 were dropping (it seemed) 1/10 GDK's. My brother killed 35 yesterday and got none.
Also, crystals seemed to drop a lot more often as pearls in Publish 13. I have to admit after killing about 150 night sisters yesterday, he did loot 5 crystals - 4 good / 1 quality (damn nice 743max damage vibro lance). Other than that, i can not attest to pearl ratio as i have given up on krayt hunting (timesink).
It'd be nice if ground based items dropped in space... or one could disable ships and dock and sieze cargo (i.e. loot). As it stands, you can get 1 helmet in space that is a ground based item and at best, you have a better shot at being struck by lightning than getting that black sun ace helmet lol

I looted a +5 Defense vs Intimidation clothing attachment off of a normal Stormtrooper doing the Rebel Theme Park, first time I've ever gotten something that useful from a stormie. In fact, I'm pretty sure its the first time I've gotten a tape from a stormy at all.

quite simple, rings have come back into the loot table, therefore there is less chance for a CA to drop as there is a larger amount of things dropping (larger pool if you will).
do you mean you sell stuff like this on ebay for $$? - cause you know you can get banned for that right?
