I'm a newbie and I'm looking for a bit of an explanation of the armor stats.

If i have armor with 2k kinetic protecton, does this mean that it can take that much damage before i incur any damage or is a percentage thing.

I've tried to ask a few people in game but no-one seems to want to explain it.

think the max armour resists i've seen is 7k and as far as i know resists can only go up to about 40% but i dont know how this is worked out off the armour stats. i could be wrong but im sure it was somthing like that people were saying before.
