I know for best results - take your stuff to a master armorsmith or weaponsmith -
it's always been easy to repair your own stuff though with a 99.99 percent tool - I've never had a weapon or piece of armor break down unless it was already down to like 200/200 condition - in the past week I've lost two items completely - nuked down to 0/0 condition from repairs with a good tool - one was a Marine Armor Helmet - 12000/45000 condition - one was a super good Republic Blaster - 280/880 condition... I can buy new stuff (though finding Marine Armor cheap is near impossible these days - this was a Pre-CU recruiter given set).... but I was wondering if this was intended now or if it's a bug with pre-CU weapons and armor?
Thanks

I really do not think this is a bug. Just bad luck in my opinion...

If they were sliced, I think TH stated when the smuggler patch hit that the higher customization is, the more susceptible to break the item is.

That's what I was thinking - the Pistol was sliced yes... *sniff* 650 dps ... The armor was not sliced but I think it's related to two things - it was Pre-CU non crafted armor - and I know the helmet and leggings lose condition particularly fast for some reason these days - the leggings repaired alright - and all the other pieces are still near 35k/45k condition
Ok well off to find a new pistol!

chances are that reguardless of the tool used if the item is at 25% or below conditon it will most likely break.
50% and below has a slightly lower chance
