But if you do that, you miss out on the other loot like the chair, table and centerpiece...but you can do the Outcast Quests I hear...
I just bought my Shaman Windchime cause I'm a collector and curator.

You can still do the the quests for the chair, table, and centerpiece. You just have to do a small quest for the Chief and he will let you continue.

EDIT : Erm, seems like the Chief won't talk to me anymore. I killed the Arena Champion, then get straight to the Outcast Cave. Should I have tried to speak to the Chief first ? Or am I just bugged ?

If you choose to kill Wirartu then you still talk to the Chief afer you leave the arena. Choose the option that asks for forgiveness. You will be asked to gather another Mysses Blossom and kill Sayormi witches till you get a bad of sand. Get the blossom and kill the witches that spawn at 238 20. Return to the king and he will forgive you, and give you the Shaman Windchime, though you will not receive the Champion sword or Badge.
yup... you cna stil ltalk to the pther villagers and obtain the Kerritemba furniture. The plus point is you can now start teh Outcast Quest and work towards a rarer Examplar of Society (Outacts Badge)... Rarer because most people spare the Arena Champoin 
Oh and you get a spinky LD-1 rifle for completing the Outcast Theme Park.

Your faction might be too low now from doing those Outcast quests. Not sure about this, but just a suggestion...but try to up your faction and then go back and talk to the Chief.
