I heard you could put SEA's in them if you fill the backpack up so its at 80/80 and then drop the ca/aa onto it. Never tried it though. Sounds feasible.

it seems like it should work but it doesnt, it will just say "too many items in this container", or something along those lines

doh, woulda been cool, maybe try overloading the backpack, that sounds like it might be an exploit though. If that works I can't be punished cause I'm just a 9 year old kid who rides the short bus and doesn't know what the word "exploit" means. Also, I wear glasses, am slightly obese, and have a speach impediment.

This hasn't ever worked. Since day one. Never. No way, no how. It took them a long time to allow armor to accept them...I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this to change.

You used to be able to get CAs to stick... a long long time ago. I had two backpacks that I had mods in but sometime between Pub8 and JTL launch the mods were removed form my packs... if you could get them to stick by some sploit or some "hidden game mechanic" I think it would just be a short period of time before the mod would be purged...just my $.02

i heard these sockets were intended for variouscargo pockets to increase backpack capacity - but it was never implemented

My brain finally did start working again ...I remember a little about how I got CAs to stick. The first time I got a CA to fill a socket I remember I was dragging a CA into my pack until I got back to the shop later (remember this was way before 80 item inventories) once I dropped the CA into the pack I got the screen confimation "this item has been used" or whatever it says. I don't know how long this "bug" lasted I know very shortly thereafter(couple days maybe longer even) I bought a +10 rifle acc CA with the sole intention on placing in my spec ops pack ...this sticks in my mind because my ubese shirt was full and I always carried around too much stuff so never used a bando and was excited because I could use another CA which I had better luck finding then AAs (this was pre my knowledge of mini-suits days too so that limited my space for CAs for sure)

sry for above tangent, long story short...
1. pack wasn't full when the CAs stuck
2. Getting CAs to stick was repeatable (for me atleast)
3. almost 100% sure this lasted longer than a few days ...I want to say at least as long as a publish, I know I made up a schem for 4 socket travel pack after this episode
4. this was "fixed" later on I tried to do this at a time that was much later and could not get CAs to stick ...but the mods that I had already in my packs were still there
5. the mods that I had in my packs were "purged" somewhere between pub8 and jtl launch... does anyone know when packs stopped losing condition on death, might be in this period /shrug
so I doubt that you would be able to get any CAs to stick in socketed packs now though and if by some "miracle" you did, I wouldn't expect it to be around for long.
