I was just curious about something. I've been hunting krayts now and then, and noticed something odd, and was hoping someone might be able to explain whats happening.
I usually find a krayt dragon and pull it away from the original spawn point. Several times what I did was pull them in one direction and keep running as I fight it, 4 times this ended up in me being about 1k away from the original spawn point, and just north or north/west of the battlefield. After the kill though, there has not been any loot, 4 times that I tried that same technique (not entering the battlefield at all, neither me nor the dragon) and no loot. 3 were regular Krayt Canyon Dragons and one was a Juvie.
The same night I was with some guildies and we kept the dragon within 100m of the spawn point and we got some kind of loot 100% of the time.
So my question is: is there something about how far a dragon is pulled from the spawn point, or from the graveyard (though this is still in the area they can naturally spawn) that they will not provide any loot?

I find it easy to just kite them, using kneecap shot, KD and stopping shot thrown into the mix if they do happen to get too close.

But is it possible to make them stuck or something so they won't be able to move any more?

this was related to the AI turning off.. It was fixed for all professions when they fixed the P-dart traps issue.
So it works till the publish hits live. I would also point out that intentionally bugging the AI could be considered an exploit and therefore is bannable.

When I used to go out looking for Krayts, these things were critical for my Rifleman to hunt a Krayt.
Terrain Negotiation- Either by Scout's Exploration line or by BE Clothing. Or attachments (expensive). Krayts have terrible Terrain Negotiation. A character with good T.Negotiation can run circles around a Krayt. They go up slopes slow, so that's where I make money. Snares, KDs, and Roots to really slow the Krayt down uphill. However, be very careful on the downslope. Krayts, when they want to, can come charging down REALLY F***ing Fast! Be sure to put great distance between you and the Krayt on descents... and keep those KDs or Roots handy, just in case.
Carbineer's Impr.Crippling Shot- By far the best Snare in the game. Rare is any time in the fight where this Snare isnt' affecting the Krayt.
Knockdowns- Either BH's Underhand Shot or Carbineer's Charge Shot. Carbineer's version is more effective, but has a slight charge animation towars the target.
Pistoleer's Stopping Shot- The effect timer is much shorter now, but is very useful still. More importantly, it doesn't break on damage like Smuggler's Concussion Shot. Used as the Emergency Escape Special.
A very well damaging Rifle with good SAC. Good damage, high SAC Rifles aren't ideal since the fight will be a tad long, and high SAC Rifles eat up your action far too fast.
Foods, Meds, Drinks. Ruby Bliel (healing timer reduction), Blob Candy (Action Regen. that can last roughly 45 minutes. Vasarian Brandy is great, but lasts only about 9 minutes), Crispic (roughly +40 Ranged Accuracy), Stimpack Ds (if you're not a healer yourself). These are my bare minimums for my character on Krayt hunts.
Oh, one last noteworthy thing: Burst Run!
