or you can also base by the cl of the npc,
cl 1 to 60 may drop a "poor" or "fair" crystal 90% of the time and "good" quality 10% of the time.
cl 60 to 80 will drop "good" quality crystal 90% of the time and "poor" or "fair" crystal 10% of the time.
cl 80 to 92 will drop a "good" quality crystal 99.9% of the time.
cl 100 to 120 will drop a "qualtiy" 99.9% of the time.
cl 200+(not in game anymore) will drop a "premium" crystal or pearl 99% of the time and a "flawless" crystal(rarer or pearl) 1% of the time.
