If you are planning on repairing a weapon I suggest that you save up some credits beforehand and prepare yourself for the anguish you will feel for ruining your favorite weapon when the repair fails. But, to answer your question, I haven't had to repair a weapon since vet rewards came out and I ADK'd my weapons however when I did have to do repairs I'd try it when the condition was getting closer to 25%.

well my dumbass got the vet reward on a different server.. so no ADK kit for me unless I can get it on the server i want? i was an accident lol =/

do the repair at 25% condition..at 25% the damage starts to decrease, it will restore once the repair is made..make sure you bf and wounds are 0..and sit in front of a weapon crafting station..not sure if that helps, but is a ritual someone turned me on to a while back..lol

I've always been told to repair it before it hits 50%,when the repair success rate is much higher. Your chances of a failure climb after you hit 50%. A good way to test this if you are curious is to repair looted weapons, they are almost always in repairable condition.
I've had most of my experience repairing looted weapons to be sliced and put on a vendor. I've also noticed, but others have told me otherwise, that I seem to have more "repaired with minor blemishes" on my weaponsmith. It also helps if you have any weapons repair skill mods.
