Thread: Weapon and Armor Repair

OK, I have some weapons and clothing that need repair, and some that could use a little fixing before I sell them but are not in dire need.

If I buy weapon and armor repair kits, will I have the same chance to fix the item as a master weaponsmith or armorsmith or artisan?

The weapon will lose some top end no matter what right?

Is my success rate all about the quality of the repair kit?

Should I wait until my weapon is 1/2 condition before I repair it?

Thanks for your help on this issue!

#1 Yes you have the same chance of repairing it as a Master Weapon/Armorsmith...unless...they have gotten skill tapes that give bonus to repair. Alot of the smiths are doing this getting +10 or better to repair skills.

#2 Yes the weapon will lose some top end no matter what. Even if you do a great repair (You have repaired the unit with only minor blemishes) it will still lose some of it's overall total health.

#3 Yes, your success rate will be better with a good repair tool. Get the best one you can find +90% effectiveness at least. You can still do a bad repair with these good tools BUT they will increase your chances of a good repair.

#4 Yes, I suggest waiting until your weapon is down to between 50% health and 25% health. I try to repair my stuff when it is at aproximately 30% total health left.

My advice to you is get some +1 or better skillenhancement repair tapes. My wookiee has +4 to repair skills via tapes and he does all the repairing for my group.

Why not wait until the weapon is down to like 5%, is it more difficult to repair or just because it loses so much effectiveness and is not up to it's full potential when it is that low?

The lower the health of the weapon the greater chance it will just explode (fall apart)when you try to repair. Around the 30% mark as he said is probably not a bad place to do it, much lower than that you are putting the weapon at risk. I'd also not repair above 45% or so since you could end up destroying the weapon and didnt get that muchuse from it yet.

I havent actually had to repair any armor yet, but I would assume so. (didnt need armor till recently) The repair kits seem to work the same way.

It is strange... Only my armoe decays when I die, not my weapons.

Is that going to change any time soon?

I was just curious on how these were working these days? I haven't tried to repair anything for almost a year, but I am noticing with the CU that I am going through armor like it was water. My other concern is some of the quest weapons seem to have a rather quick lifespan.

Last time I trie repairing anything I broke everything, and would rather use the armor to the end then break it while it is still useable.

Yup I broke everything too. I've never really had to repair anything before CU. Now I'm looking for armor to replace mine.

Thanks for the reply, look like I just wear everything out, and put the nice loot weapons on the wall.

Armor and weapon repair work well, just make sure you use a 99.9009% kit and some +repair clothes will help.. For weapons the weaponsmiths toolkit is cheap and you can find repair tapes sometimes.
