And, for your money ( for me with two accounts nearly 800 bucks), you got to play a game. Congrats, you got your reward.
Oh, but you want more, because you think playing a game for 2 years gives you the right to be given something in addition to all the entertainment....if you didn't like playing the game, bugs and all, you wouldn't be getting a 2 year reward, so that just doesn't float.
You deserve NOTHING. If you don't like the changes you can show it by NOT paying for this game for 2 years.
You’re one of those who say... "don't like America, then leave it". Aren’t cha. Let me turn the tables on ya:
If you don't like my opinion, then just ignore me.
How bout instead of leaving the game, I stay active, and give feedback to what is going on in the game. Perhaps I could participate in conversations on subjects that evaluate the state of the game, on how it can change, or how it should stay the same.
We never asked for the rewards, but we got them. In my opinion the whole idea of the rewards system sucks, but we have it. If I am given the option to say what I think about it, I’m gunna.
You say the 2 year vets deserve nothing. I say they do. I already gave my reason why: to sum it up:
"Product loyalty", also; we have not gotten a product that has been worth the cost to date, and we are entitled to something more.
You say is that the reward is inherent in the game play. I say I enjoyed playing this game, but I don't feel that I have my money's worth out of it. I continue playing out of product loyalty and I have hope that it will someday be the game that I think it could be. From now until then I will continue to give my 2 cents worth, and squeeze every ounce of worth out of the $15 dollars a month I give to this game. Obviously you disagree. Your wrong, but you’re entitled to your opinion.
Can you honestly tell yourself that this game is worth $800 plus two accounts? Either you value the dollar much lower than I, or you haven’t really thought through your position enough.
Since we are getting rewards no matter what, we might as well gain rewards that are worth all of the troubles we have endured through out these two years.
I can drop 800on badnight at the card table ....800 over 2 years isn't much, especially counting the hours of entertainment I've received. You want to stick around, well, its your dime. Just don't get the misconception that just because you stuck it out you deserve something beyond recognition.
I don't mind rewards. I do mind rewards that unbalance gameplay. If I'm given a rare, but totally innocuous item (like a painting), something only veterans will get, that is reward. A +25/+25 SEA of my choice? Go loot one. Rewards should NEVER be something you can achieve through gameplay.
Rewards that can't be placed in a house should be untradeable. They also shouldn't take up any space in the bank. In other words, if it isn't decor of some sort, it shouldn't be tradeable. ADK's should never have been made tradeable. I rank that goof rightup there with the Holocron screw-up.
I know all about product loyalty. However, no product that performs badly has ever gotten MY loyalty. This product, while painful, angering, hate-inciting, frustrating, etc. it may be at times has still performed adequately enough to continue getting my dime.
Don't be disappointedif you find out your two year reward (if any) is anything more than a special version of something already in game, or a piece of fluff that, while rare, has no affect on game play. I think the Dev's are still kicking themselves in the backside over the ADK.
But, by all means stay active and let the commentary flow. You've been right on many occasions before, its just this time you dropped the ball a bit (in my opinion anyway).
I just get so irritated when we recive fluff items for rewards.... It's hard to explain, for example, one of the items we could have chosen for a reward was a bench seat for a YT-1300. When I saw it, I instantly got a sickining feeling in my gut, and thought "Gee.... Thanks ::rolleyes:: something that has just a few pixles of diffrence than something that is already in the game, and craftable. I apreciate the gesture, but faced with items like this, I would rather of never had anything.
I've thought about the ADK example alot, and I think that it was a poor item for the devs to give. However, it is on the opposite side of the spectrum from the YT-1300 seat. Something near the middle would be nice. Personaly, I'd prefer an item of usefullness, not unbalancing, but not fluff. others prefer unique fluff, others prefer uber loot.
Now that I think about it, that is kind of a tall order to fill for SOE & LAE
So, I would like to take this opertunity to retract my statements I made about damning the torpedos and going full steam ahead on unbalanced vet rewards. Its wrong. I appologise. I also appologise for saying anyone else was wrong about their opinions. sometimes I can be cranky and unresonable.
but gosh darnit SOE, stop frustrating me. sometimes I feel like would force choke you if I could.

OK rich guy, about dropping $800 a night at the cards, well i personally had 3 toons on this game, 100's of millions of credits blown, with credits = time..
Me being a veteran i RATE it.. I did the crafting, and the hunting, but you have got to be kidding me, on some of your stuff.. The point is this is the 2nd, differnet game which i paid money for. They already put their foot in mouth, about reward, and my answer is GIMMIE GIMMIE.. And it better be TOP NOTCH..
As far as trinkets, to decorate your store, cool, you get that rare garbage, give me something tight. Bad a$$ vehicle, mega bunker, something.
Cause you support this CU, and whatever else, that is fine, dont rain on my parade when it comes time for some love for me being a Loyal customer.
Simply put, we are being rewarded for having our accounts active for two years. Nothing more, nothing less. We as PLAYERS/CUSTOMERS desereve recognition and/or a "thank you" bonus that enhances our play. Our characters in no way deserve any sort of edge or any other potential imbalance to "delineate" or set us above the rest of the player's characters in functionality.
In my opinion titles, skins, decor, badges, plaques, refundsand to a lesser extent even the second slot seem far more appropriate that any sort of "uber-loot" type of veteran reward.

How about a teleport terminal you can place in your house/shop so you can warp there from anywhere without having to hop from shuttleport to starport to shuttleport then a 2k ride (would only work while not in combat though)
Or how about a personisled plack like the CU upgrade ones, only you can choose what you want on it, from a weapon, or a quote or something along with your name and desired title you hold. so for intstance i would get.
Topper' Harley
Master Weaponsmith
(and a t21 here)
Great to put on my shop counter.
Anyway ive been sat in med centre long enough now so should be healed->> back to game for me
I like your ideas! wish you were on the dev team.

So a loyal customer who's payed $350.00 in monthly fees for an account should be no farther ahead and stuck with "titles, skins, decor, badges, plaques, refundsand to a lesser extent even the second slot", than a person who's paid maybe $60.00 in fees and half the box price?
