I've seen on some trade forums people talking about how premium pearls and crystals will not get perfect tunes anymore. Where was this stated? I'm pretty sure that as many jedi as there are now, that something would have been said about this. Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

apparently pearl quality actually affects the tune now.. but all pearls have a % of all no's.... but dont tune yet... its bugged.. screwed.. buggered
all my old tuned pearls came out naff

Pearls are gonna be a real pain to get tho. I killed many today and they arent dropping only 3 types now.
I looted a "Fair" From a Juvy
"Good from a Giant Canyon
"Quality" from a Canyon
Seems they decided we actually want to waste our time with crappy pearls even more

The post is in the stickies, along with the cloak and LS testing which were collected into one post to avoid clutter. According to this testing there is actually no chance of getting a perfect tune from anything but a Flawless. There are hard caps on minimum and maximum values based on the quality rating. I guess thats what everyone was asking for, no more crappy premium tunes, but that also mean no uber premium tunes

Two questions. First, where besides the Krayt graveyard can I find krayt dragons, and second, besides nightsisters, who drops ls crystals?

first, anywhere in the open desert....I think the Dune Seas and Jundland Wastes are where they mostly spawn. By jabba's palace is a spot to check as well, but the graveyard is by and far your best bet
Second, lots of NPCs 
Depends if you meant GOOD crystals (ie fair, good, quality..?) Quality crystals drop from CL109 islanders, good drop from force crystal hunters, tuskens drop some too, as doGCW NPCs, but probably not good quality.

Meat lumps outside cnet drop them, but thoseusualy suck. Go to dath and converse with a Nightsister, ask her about the big ships in the sky, this is how you get the good ones. Hope that helped.

I know this may be a stupid question and all but I will ask anyway. What is the difference between crystals and pearls and what is the overall benefit to my saber?
I have heard that good crystals start around 300k but the ones on the terms are around 50k. Can someone educate me?

Pearls are for power.Crystals come in power and colors now for elemental.The cheaper crystals are going to be colors I would bet.Its hard to find clear on vendors unless they are not of good quality.You can find colors many vendors ranging from 10k to over 200k and special colors like the Sunriders you wont find on the vendors.GL =)

Ok, pearls are "better" than crystals as far as the damage ranges go, but its all totally random anyways...
Pearls max stats
120 Damage
-9 FC
-.29 Speed
Crystal max stats
110 Dmg
-9 FC
-20 speed (maybe up to-.29 but I have yet to see one but I cant find the post atm clarifying)
Ratings are from..
poor
fair
good
quality
select
premium(no longer dropping as loot)
flawless(no longer dropping as loot)
ANY pearl/crystal has the opportunity to tune to the max stats..
The higher the rating the higher the chance for the better tune..

I didnt know that pearls were more powerful. I never really went after nightsisters anyway but with the dragons still down. My saber is fine its still just a good money maker.

The key is a pearl *CAN* be more powerful due to them tuning usually at higher stats than their crystal counterparts (this is intended). However, that's not to say you'll get some uber stats from a crystal. 110dmg with -9FC is nothing to shake as stick at.
