Okay kiddies, time for a few corrections.
Echani:
Echani is a martial arts style that had become the official technique of Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guards. The style is thought to have its origins in the style of the Sun Guards of Thyrus. . . The Brutal echani style is full of jabs, chops, kicks, and other quick and dangerous strikes, focusing on deadliness over finesse. (Wiker/Thompson 48: Star Wars Hero's Guide 2003)
Sorry kiddies, this has already been cannonized. . . Echani is an unarmed form of martial arts combat and in actuallity, the Tera Kasi we see in the game is more akin to the descriptions given of the Echani style.

Don't you think its a bit unfair that Pikemen would be getting ANOTHER elite weapon? You already have the Long Vibro Axe, Vibro lance, Nightsister Lance, Nightsister Energy Lance, and some other ultra rare weapon I have only seen in a few Screen Shots that is appearantly lootable from the DWB. Of course that excludes the Wooden Staff, Reinforced Combat Staff, Metal Staff, and Lance.. . which while rather pathetic, are similar to other polearms in their prevelance of high end DOTs and exceptional specimens. What about fencer that doesn't have an "elite" looted schematic based weapon? What about commando and carbineer that has the same problem? I'm going to ignore TKM which will soon have access to the Black Sun Heat Knucklers again. . . but don't you think trying to get ANOTHER weapon type is a bit on the greedy side? I have looted LVAs with max damaged over 400 on SEVERAL occasions but I have NEVER looted a power hammer, scythe, DOT vibro knucks, or an exceptional stun baton.

maybe this should be a Pike weapon with Imperial Cert from quest.... maybe something directly linked to those royal guard quest ideas that are floating around the forums too ... THIS IS CONTENT =) and yes rebels will be shafted...

dont worry, ranged profs are getting way more weapons then melee in cu, and everyone wants this weapon in the game, even the fencers and swordsman.
any devs read this yet ?

Wasn't that sword in KOTOR and wasn't that over 4000 years before episode 1? So technically you want to add a sword thats older than dirt to the game?
lol assuming that current melee weapons like swords, wooden poles, axes and stone knives are recent inventions

wait wasn't there a screenshot of a person wielding something that looked like that? I swear it was in there it had 2 blades on each end and was held like a pike. I would have to go searching for it but I think it was in the 300 to 400 range for pictures. It was of a person in composite armor infront of village ore stuff holding that weapon. Had to be a dev on an alpha server showing off.
