even when they're being converted to pearls, the stats on even the best TC2 pearls pale in comparison to the pearls on live now. To stock up now basically means you're paying for stats that are going to be hugely nerfed. not really worth it IMO

yep, it's true. both the nerf and the transformation. Pearls still wont drop in price though, because there will always be some uber crafter or credit duper willing to shell out 10 million+ for them.
Actually that wont be the case if during this revamp Jedi are given the ability to craft color crystals. If they do this then pearls will just turn into another item to enhance a weapon, kind of like krayt tissue.
At most you will see people selling them for 1 million tops but in the end nobody would pay more than that due to pearls / crystals no longer being "Required".

Yes borwhin, you are correct. IF we get the ability to craft/forage for color crystals. But thats a mighty big If. do i hope it happens? you bet your ass i do. but do i expect it? not really. But here's to hoping... *raises glass*

I havent looked much into the current stats of crystals since I have been trying so hard to find pearls but... do the current crystal stats compare at all to a crystal?

Yeah... doh. Funny thing is that I re-read the post before posting. What I meant to ask was..
Do the current CRYSTALS even come close in comparison to KRAYTPEARLS?

crystals are in fact sometimes better than pearls. i've had some crystals tune to -8 force while some pearls tuned to -2 with approx same damage and other mods.

Tuning is a roll of the dice, so it's possible to have a crystal turn out better than a pearl after tuning.
On TC2 however, pearls -usually- turned out better than crystals.

premium pearls have converted far above and beyond a premium crystal in my experience every time

Ok i have tuned many pearls and crystals and the most i have gotten out of them is 8s... started to think 9 force cost ones are rare...
how hard is it for the rest of you? I am talking about premiums....
oh and by the way an addon here... Flawless crystals or pearls...what is wrong with the devs.... i hear poeple tuning them at -6
hello does anybody know what flawless means? it means perfect..... it has NO FLAWS yet you tune it like it had your moms hair stuck in it from a flaw..
cmon man at least stick to the what Flawless means...if not change the name.... for god sake do something in our favor... you are so hell bent on making our life miserable yet you can not at least give us something that is certain like a FLAWLESS
well just my idea on that flawless should be one set of stat period...if not change the name...
and premiums well i dont think they should be tuned to where my quality i just tuned was better...

tuning is random
the quality of the pearl/crystal just givesyou a higher chance of a good tune.

i've tuned 4 premium pearls i think:
3 of them with -9 FC and 1 with -6 FC
All the premium crystals i tuned came out lower than that. My advice is go with premium pearls all the way and pray for a good tune.
