This thing is so ugly, but I want it so bad because:
- It's rare and thus ubar.
- I need 15 mill, 20k ain't getting me anywhere and all the Aces are laughing at me :-(

I thought the drop rate was only like 1:250 or something like that. I didn't think it was in the thousands. Oh well, I'd still look for it if it were 1:2500. Those duty missions pay the bills and as a DE, I'm not raking in much money. Then of course Publish 21 comes along and.....oh, that's a different thread.

back when jtl first came out as i got to 4-4-4-4 in privateer and began the naboo BS duties. did them for about 2 weeks and got nothing. Then got ace and looted 3 in about 2-3 weeks. then went a few months without seeing any before i took my hiatus.
it really is pure luck getting them. i know people who have done these missions for 6+ months and still havent looted one.
as for the attraction... well because mainly it just looks plain cool. looks far better than any other helmet in the game IMO and its clothing without a faction assignment so it can be worn by everyone. its currently highly sought after by jedi on my server because it can be worn with robes and it doesnt count as armour.
The way i look at it though is this. I actually do the blacksun missions for the cash (i earn 75-90k per naboo BS duty) and the parts. I've gotten some VERY nice parts doing this mission and the drop rate is alot better than set spawns etc. So if i get a helmet its a bonus. I would like to get another though as i sold my first 3 and im really not keen on how the privateer helmet looks.

No still post what dropped it, what lvl, etc. Would be nice to know what exactly drops is ? Ace, Assasin, etc. And can the tier 1's , as well as the tier 5's drop it ?

Ummm this is all known now.. there is a faq for the hem what to kill where and everything.

Well, it's either far lower than this, or I'm just very unlucky. I managed to get 50 million prestige doing Black Sun duty missions (with some corvette runs and such interspersed to help others reach master) without looting a single Black sun helmet. This would turn out to be approximately 30k tier IV and V ships...One good thing is that there was quite a bit of cash (spent on maintenance unfortunately) and some decent parts (can anyone say 37k reactor?!!).

Yep, these missions can really pay the bills. I can get 65k for mission payments, 100k looted and about 135k for the less useful parts looted and sold to the chasis vendor. 300k credits for about 80 minutes or work with little danger? Not a bad way to make some cash.

Does anyone know where a good spawn of teir 4 or 5 Black Sun Fighters are or if anyone has looted it and can tell me where they looted it...I am trying to get the Black Sun Ace Fighter Helmet.
If anyone can help me out tht would be great.
