You guys are commenting on the conversion process as it stands now...IN BETA...Not final....Have some faith...I know it's hard but they told us the best would be the best....the conversion just needs tweaking...

No one knows for certain because the Devs aren't saying jack. But it's been that way since 2004.

yeah, so in my opinion SOE completely lied to us when they said that the best weapons were still gonna be the best weapons (or armor) If I have a dxr that's better than your T21, then who has the best weapon after the CU? YOU DO

Just to make sure i get it right, the weapon level is tied to the weapon type is tied to the weapons damage range? So post CU every rifleman will just carry a T-21, every swordsman just a scythe*, every pistoleer just a DE-10*, cause they have the highest level, therefor the highest damage and damage types are not interesting anymore?


* I have no idea, which will be the highest lvl weapons for the certain profession, I am just giving examples

maybe i need to look all through out these threads, but how will "ranged defense" be affected i wonder, when they dont even come from SEAs? like my mabari steelweave helm, and akuan rings. anyone know?

thankfully each profession has atleast 3 or more weapons that are max creature level so we will still have variety ( definately more then we do on live currently ) .

You guys have too much faith. They only have 2 more weeks to test, and that's it. If they delay the CU, then they have to delay ROTW, and they're not going to delay ROTW by any more than a couple days, because its release has been timed to coincide with that of Episode III. My guess is that the majority of devs are working on the CTD problems, because they can't release theCU with those stil happening. After that, I'm guessing their next priorityis finishing up ROTW. Since the CU has been in such a constant state of flux, that means that all the quests and adventure areas in ROTW have to still be finalized. And on top of that they still need to balance tons of MOBs across all the exsisting planets. Making sure Exceptional/Legendary items and SEAs convert properly has got to be VERY far down on their priority list, considering the massive rush job they are doing with the CU. Perhaps if they had another month to test, I would have faith in things converting right, but as it stands right now, I just don't see that happening. I think pretty much everyone who's put effort into the game over the last two years to collect items of value needs to be prepared to havethe vast majority oftheir work swept away. When its all said and done, I'll be lucky if I don't have more than 100mil worth of items turned into junk, and I'm sure there will be plenty of people even worse off than me.

Technically, there are eight possible combinations of base damage type and elemental damage type, so in theory each proffession could end up having eight weapons of value to a master. Even a none-master level weapon could be usefull if the combination of its base and elemental damage is the best match for a specific MOB you're fighting.

News just in from TC4-Bria, apparently ALL mods on a SEA now stick, and the tape still takes only one socket - one tape, up to three mods, one socket, ALL mods stick.


The more important question is, what happens to all the "discontinued" mods, do they get converted into something useful like melee/ranged defence?

What about the stuff we have now, like a shirt with +25 defense against disease+15ranged +20 dizzy. I wonder if we loose out, ( typical soe) or do we get something in exchange (/praying )

Ok. I may have just stuck a bunch of useless tapes into a suit of 25M armor. I am so **edit**ing pissed right now because apparently they no longer work after the CU. For the love of all that is Holy does any one have an actual list provided by these useless DEVs of what actually does and does not work? And if it doesn't work anymore, why in the hell are these mods still **edit**ing dropping??


Please someone put me out of my misery. I been playing since the begining and I am officially at the end of my rope with this **edit**.

The best way for you to check if they work is by using the armor and seeing the effects of the bonus' and then doing a run without the armor. Thats what I do. If your talking about the "accuracy while moving" then ya, I guess that was a bad investment. Those dont work anymore, sorry if I busted your bubble...

As far asI know no Dev has evenacknowledged that SEA's even exist.


It's kind of a hush hush topic because it would open a can of worms for them (having to explain and fix alot of things)



Also if you are going to do some testing, be aware that some things (last time I checked dont know if this has changed) like ranged defense and melee defense, if you just take your +25 ranged defense helmet off or put it on (or eat ranged defense food for example) .. the mod wont show any change in combat unless you unequip and then re-equip your weapon (but if you log in with your helmet on youll be fine)
