What a bunch of hoey.
It says that species have certain advantages and disadvantages. This happens to be one of them. Give up this and species aren't unique. There is a reason its advantageous to be human and zabrak in this game. Its cannon. This is like me whining that I as a zabrak dont get +'s to experimentation.
The advantages and disadvantages are fine, that's cool even, the problem is we're not given fair information back when we started about the pros and cons of race and gender selection. If we had made an informed decision, fine, but we didn't, and the rules changed even more as the game went on.
If you're going to significantly change things mid-stream, give players the option one-time, as significant changes occur, to change their selections.
And, things are often done in the game because the devs don't have the time to address things fairly or consistently, so things happen like females not having imperial hats, or some races not being able to wear RIS helmets (more artwork problems the devs haven't been able to resolve with coding due to other priorities) while they can wear other RIS pieces that don't cause the artwork problems. As a Mon, I can wear comp helmet, but not RIS helmet, I can wear comp chest, and also can wear RIS chest. That's an art problem, not a continuity standard. So we players get hosed cause SOE didn't have time to get around to designing in the RIS helmets for Mon's, and the Imperial Hats for females.
Do it right upfront, so things are available to all the peeps they should be available to, or hold of on launching it to anyone, and even before that, for things that are done intentionally on a race and gender basis, disclose that upfront, so peeps making decisions about race, gender, faction, etc. can make informed decisions that they have to live with to their detriment, preference, and playstyle or pay serious consequences to change later when they get more info.
