Right, at the end of the voting, when he wins, you get one gift (in my case the rug), then you get the quest for the painting, but you have to ask for it. He doesn't give it to you automatically........I know quite a few people who didn't know that, and ran off without doing his quest, or turned it down, it's pretty lame.

*thinking hard* I think I got my rug and painting a month or so ago, and I know I voted near the end of the election......if I remember right, it's two month cycles. One month of being in office, then one month of voting. This one started last week, the previous was around December 14th, I think. I'm not entirely sure, but that's how it seems to run.
One thing I DO know, despite what some people are saying, is you can get both good rewards. When he won, he gave me the Ornate Rug, then I went and did his lame little mission, and got the Star Painting for doing that. I think that's kindof random, though, while I was doing my thing, three other people got one or the other, or a lame statue you can buy for 5k at any vendor. What I don't know for sure (but will soon) is if you can vote for him again, and get more rewards.
i know every time that you do his little quest you get the same reward, the painting. Will you get a diferent reward for voting for him a second time? that i don't know for sure (havnt been succesfull at voting him into office multiple times) but i am going to guess that you still get the rug even if you already have it.

anyone want to know a stupid little add-on quest to seans? well i guess my pain should help others.
ok you know where you get the disk from the wreckage and show it to sean? well he tells you to give it to a guy who will destroy it. well theres an NPC standing outside the capitol building who (when you have the disk) asks you to talk to him, when you do you can offer to give the disk to the hutts, well guess what? theres a different reward?
its a couple cryoban grenades
worst of all, sean will never talk to you again, so you can vote for him
i want to actually test something if anyone wants to try, once you have the disk and have talked to sean, try the named NPC in the cantina (who says he wont talk to you), maybe he will give ya something shiny

I feel your pain here soimgonna break this down in as much detail as I can. I have extensive knowledge of the nightmarish process that is the Election and the "In Office" process. To start with, Voting lasts for 3 weeks, and then whoever wins is in office for 3 more weeks. If the candidate you voted for wins the election, he will give you a reward. Just talk to him any time after he has won, and while he is in office, and he will have a "text option" in the radial menu to claim your reward. While a candidate is in Office, he will give a quest you can do for another reward. You can get the quest from him at any time while he is in office, "I got mine on the next day after he won, and my friend got his about a week later". Note thatits not necessary to have voted for the winning candidate to get this quest, it is available to all. Below is a breakdown of the rewards and who gives them.
Victor-
Vote for him and he wins = random gift ofeither an Imperial Banner, OR a Necklace called "Badge"-Loyalty.
***Please note, that the necklace is the exact same thing as the pendant that can be crafted by any novice tailor, and is therefore completely worthless. So if you get this, you have just been shafted BIG TIME! I have gotten the necklace many times, and only the banner once, so it seems that the banner may be the rarer of the gifts.
Quest while in Office = Victors quest will send you to the tusken fort to kill an extremely tough tusken and bring back evidence of his death. If i remember correctly its a tusken executioner you have to kill, and you bring back his head as evidence. This quest is quite difficult in comparison to Sean's quest, which requires no combat. When you return, Victor will reward you with "I believe" a type of tusken rifle with better stats. Its been a long time on this quest, so im could be wrong about its reward.
Sean-
Vote for him and he wins = random gift of either an Ornate Rug, OR a Statue, which is also a craftable item created by architects and a total ripoff, just like the necklase from victor. (Its the blue "Wierd Statue" of the guy bent over with the feathers coming from his back) I dont know rarity on this one, seems more 50/50 on personal experience.
Quest while in Office = Seans quest will send you to the crashed landing site, right outside of bestine. Simply talk to the npc there, inspect the terminal for evidence, then return to Sean. He will ask you to take the evidence to another npc for disposal, which you do, then return for the reward. The reward is a large rectangle picture of a Planet seen from orbit, and some stars and such, its mostly in shades of blue, with brown frame.
Take note that once you have voted for a candidate and claimed his reward (if he wins) you cannot claim another reward from him again until you have voted for the opposing candidate (and he wins). You can not vote for the same guy every election, because if he wins a second time in a row and you go back for your second reward, he will call you "greedy" and claim to have aready rewarded you. This does not apply to the side quest they give out, it can be done every election cycle as far as I know.
Hope this helps out.

yeah, selling out Treadwell was not a nice thing to do..I even visited the local Planetary Record Keeper thinking this would set things straight--it didn't.
Also after I got the Imp Flag, Victor won again, and when I tried to get my prize he told me to bugger off because I already got something from him.
