As for my current knowledge, the nightsister crystal is just an artifact, as well as the petrified eggs, but we don't have any jedi masters anywhere, and a master can see better than a padawan.
Yep. My original response was directed at the person who posted this thread. Until we have a Jedi Master in-game we can't conclusively count out these other types of crystals (and A Rare Artifact).

Anyone know what this is for?
It looks like the lightsaber crystals. When you examine it it says:
A small stone that was embedded within the headdress of a Nightsister. It feels very cold to the touch, and having it on your person makes you feel uneasy.

Wanted to know. Are these worth anything? Can they be used in lightsabers?

The Nightsister Force Crystal and the Singing Mountain Clan Force Crystal are both items that are part of a quest out of the Dathomir Imperial Prison.
Normally, you'd have to return these to the quest giver to continue the quest, but they are rather unique items, so many people (myself included) put them in droids so we can keep a couple of them, then retake the quests.
They are not useful to Jedi at all. They are simply house decorations, nothing more. Having said that, I've seen them sell for 50k-100k to the right rare collector
