Its a good idea, but not having it teaches us to be more careful. My skiff already blew up in a fight and i have to pay 140k for a restoration kit, i dont really have much money so it told me to be more careful.

yeah you can always say be more careful but if you watch you radar aggro spawns everywhere, it even spawns on the lava

The problem with swoops and speeder bikes on mustafar they wont protect you from lava. Otherwise I would use the vehicle crate method.
Flash speeder is pretty unique and nice. I don't think SOE plans to change the Skiff. I DO wish however you were allowed to store your vehicle in combat. it's not like it's a pet ro something that can affect the outcome of the battle!!

Buy yourself some vehicle restoration kits and quit your whining!

this isnt necesary imho. just be more careful with vehicles on mustafar. most folks losing their vehicles repeatedly on mustafar just arent taking in account how nasty the denizens of the new planet are. store your ride before fights and all is good.I havent lost a vehicle on mustafar yet cuz i got tired of paying to refurbish them on other planets and started being more careful.
/disagree
i think its absurd that theres no /getdesertskiff option as there is with the flash speeder. The only reason i agree with the original poster is because its the only thing that is fast to cross the lava....without restoring it im payin 300k to get it fixed on anightly basis

I will submit to no /skiff command.. at least make them harder to kill then, realisticly (i know not much is realistic in SWG but...) a skiff would be quite difficult to blow up.. so give them bigger HP's

I have a better idea. now that there are vehicle restoration kits(weren't when the flash originally was released), make the flashspeeder now require one like every other vehicle. I have never seen anyone selling asteroid resources on their vendors, so go mine it if you don't like the prices. and no, my master artisan hasn't made any restoration kits yet but plan to for myself and friends as soon as I have a chance to go get some resources

I find it fun when it gets blown up while I'm on lava. Kinda wonder how an animal like that can just swim right through ...totally unharmed..

I think this all boils down to: make space mining a little more fun.
That being said, me and my guildmate, who is a master pilot having completed the Y-8 Mining Ship quest, travel into space on a few nights a week. And together, we manage to gather at least 6-10k of either space resources needed for the VRKs. It's cool to be grouped, and have more than one person shooting at the same time. Hell, bring your entire guild.. or at least 8 of them
Have 5 gunners and tractor beamers.
Only problem I have is, I get terribly sleepy in space.. in particular if I play after midnight. I dunno what it is.. the vast dark space... small stars passing by fast, the blurred animation of shooting guns...
I just want to sleep when I am in space.. odd really.
But as I said, space mining can be fun. BUT if it were more appealing to the masses, more people might do it, and thus, more resources and restoration kits would be crafted. Prices down, and there we are.
Alternatively, make each kit have 6 uses instead of just one (having them stack is not good enough). Like a vehicle paint kit.

I disagree, the price of resources to the artisan is what drives the price of the kit in most cases. It is very difficult to get the space mined required resource especially if the artisan is not also a master pilot.

I must disagree Skuzz, there are plenty of players who agro NPC's who then do an area-attack with the new AI setup. This results into your vehicle dying in a simply drive-by. These agro NPC's aren't noticable until they appear when you are in range of 30m-60m which is too close to react. If more cheaper vehicles can stand lava this isn't a problem, but since the Skiff is the only common vehicle to drive over lava, restoring them is a pain, considering many Artisans play a cartel or monopoly on the prices of these tools.
