In reality... flawless seem to tune above 40 dmg with either -8 or -9 fc more so than premiums. I've never really seen a difference between premiums and flawless, except that I seem to end up with alot more 40+/-8's when using them as opposed to premium's. Premiums seem to tend to like leaving me with alot of 30+/-6 and -8's.

This has been my experience as well. I tuned 2 flawless - both -8 +40ish , 4 premiums all -9 +26 - +47. I paid 2.3M each for the flawless and 2M for the prem's.
luckily i looted this, i wouldnt reccomend buying any pearls tbh. Just get a small group and go hunting, you should get a few and when they tune bad it doesn hurt so much.

All pearls have a chance to tune to 120 -9, the higher the quality the better the chance of a good tune.
Each stat is a seperate number and a different roll as far as I know. The chances of getting high end rolls from both stats are very low especially with a lower quality pearl. Might be why it appears this way that you get one or the other. If you get 1 perfect roll, chances are you wont get another one so soon.
If it was one roll the numbers would all line up and all 120s would be -9.9 FC with 4 wound and -.299 spd
As far as the flawless being treated as a different type at one point I had not heard about that, and could not tell you what if anything has been done about it assuming it was true.
