ive never looted any exceptional items, but i buy alot of em off of the bazaar or off ppls venders for cheap, its just luck

The strength of the npc doesnt matter, there have been legendary drops off of meatlumps. The only thing that i can see is that you kill as many of the easiest npc (go with ns, you can get crystals and other good things) and you might get lucky and get one. Personally the best thing ive looted was a primium pearl off a juvie, but my friend got a horrible tune on it lol.

might try and hunt rancors. they drop the odd exceptional item not too often, but you can slaughter hundreds in one buffs session. my friend got an exceptional CDEF pistol from one

I looted an exceptional LVA off a NS Sentinel last year. Stats were a joke. Just 1.0 speed was all. Ver disapointing. I also have an Exceptional Krayt Pearl. More of a collectors item.

in 6 month i jsut only looted 8 expetional things
it was really a set of 8 krayt compirte armor segment exeptionals
stats sucked very bad but i have it for show

exceptional weapons can be crap, i got 1 or 2 of the vette, but just mods that done relate to the weapon in hand!

i gota exceptional stryker pistol off a rebel once it was still poo and it ended up with the same treatment as looted cdef's
