You guys need wiring, not red wiring. The wiring looks just like a skill tape. I've completed 3 of the "datadisks" now, and they say they look like they can go into some kind of "datapad"... I've looted a broken datapad, I gotta assume there is a way to fix them now?
All the info you need to complete this is in the main thread....

Ok, question about this. First off, what exactly does it do? I assume it repairs a datadisk, but what is the purpose? A viewscreen printer makes picures, what doesa datadisk do? And what kind of datadisk, I don't think I've ever gotten a broken datadisk.
Secondly, what supplies do you need? I haven't seen any parts that say that they are used in a datadisk repair kit (like the Blank Canvass tells you in examine that its for a viewscreen printer), and its not listed on the kit itself either. My guess is that two of them are the Magnetic Burner and the Magnetic Reader, since they seem like something that would repair a disk and I got them from the same kind of mob.

The datadisk repair kit repairs....corrupted datadisks.
Take the kit, put in a corrupt datadisk, magnetic reader, magnetic burner, recovery software, and wiring, and you get a "Datadisk" (no longer corrupt).
Of course, now you need a datapad to read the disk...
For that, you need a datapad repair kit (I think it's actually labeled "Datapad housing"), put in a broken datapad, datapad battery, datapad backlight, and datapad connectors to get an "empty datapad".
Insert the datadisk into a datapad and out pops a piece of in-game fiction (along the lines of the "patrol report" you loot occasionally when killing NPCs in space). I'm not sure if the datapad gets used up (I'm prettysure the datadisk does).
Although personally I'm hoping for a small chance of something cooler: a schematic or maybe even the elusive "Secret research data" for Bioengineers that has sat empty for over a year.

Ifit didn't make the datadisk, take out all the pieces and put them back in. It should then make a datadisk.
