The thing is its not a normal nerf though. Normally a Nerf only hurts one or two professions an allows others to surpass them. But the CU basically just lowers the bar for everybody to rebalance them. The only real Nerf will be from a PvE standpoint. NPC's an Creatures will be challenging again. An hopefully those retarded 200k+ HAM mobs can be brought down to something halfway realistic.

As long as you nerf everyone, no one really sufferes

Of course its not really a nerf, its a rebalancing of the systems. And its sorely needed in my personal opinion.

I found this today:

Brekkee - *Dea* What will happend when the combat update hits with the old weapons and the old armors
Tyrant - The short answer is they will change to be within the new system. Expect us to start rolling out more info on Combat Upgrade next week.

Brekkee - *AlphaMale* How soon will CURB information be released to the entire gaming Community. I've heard many mixed responses, and 'when we're ready to' isn't cutting it for alot of members.
Tyrant - We are putting together more information on the Combat Upgrade for release next week.
Tyrant - So stay tuned!

Every time they do a patch or publish you people shout NERF. Have you looked at what they are doing? You can't say nerf because they are completely changing the way weapons and armor work. In the current system you can take dozens of shots thanks to 80% armor before you die. In the new system you won't be able to take nearly as many. Sooo...that is a nerf? There is none of this Heat, Cold, Electricity, Kinetic. Give them a break will you? If after the CURB you are less "uber" then continue whining. The rest of us will just keep playing and not wonder why we don't need to say nerf for everything the devs do.

I agree that armor will be reduced in effective ness. Along with that, buffs will be reduce. However, I don't think the raw numbers on weapons will go down. If you look at the amount of damage most weapons do to the varying levels of PVE mobs they are balanced for the most part. The imbalance happens due to players being able to tank for far longer than was ever intended, there-by being able to eventually do enough damage to win.

So in effect, the ability to do damage will be in-directly nerfed by nerfing our ability to tank.

No, that's about the normal damage dealt to low and mid level NPCs when using a 2400+ damage T21 and a power up on NPCs.

Dont read the combat log, look at the convo.

Yeah but the point was whether that's a doctor'ed shot or not weapons like that still exist. I cant think of a single reason anyone should deserve such a weapon. Especially after the CU when everything is supposed to be balanced an fun.

No, that's about the normal damage dealt to low and mid level NPCs when using a 2400+ damage T21 and a power up on NPCs. I sliced an legendary T21 last week for damage bumping the max from 1980 to 2435 and when a 33.3% power up is placed on that rifle sits around 3246. Just normal default fire will hit gungans for over 14k of damage, in PvP a TKM / Master Smuggler / Master Pistoleer takes 2400 damage per Strafe Shot 2. Master head shot on Jedi usually hits for around 1800 - 1900 each successful hit. On my server there's a guy running around with a 600 action fire T21 with over 17k uses left on it. Tell me exactly why these weapons should be left untouched after the CU/R/B.

Simple, that is the only true thing that will balance the game.

I believe that having players have to trade in their weapons, the way that CH and Non-CH had to trade in invalid pets after the CH nerf, will put everyone at the same starting point. Anything else would just spin the perpetual inbalance further and will will make quitters out of those who didnt spend their days and nights camping and looting to have the best stuff.

I agree that the game needs a balance, but I have to tell you I didn't work my butt off playing so I can "be at the same starting point" as everyone else as you put it. I've been playing since launch, am not a camper, and have aquired a large number of good items I do not want to be useless after the CURB. I've got 2 full sets of RIS, 3 very nice Powerhammers, 3 custom Scythes, and a great modded suit that I looted all the attachments forexcept 1 from NS and Aakuans. All of this stuff I had made special for me and believe me that it took months of hunting to do. I took the time and effort to hunt for good stuff to make these items, not camp/sell/buy like a lot of people out there do and to be nerfed back to noob in a single day would not sit well with me at all.

Don't get me wrong, some of my stuff does need to be toned down a bit as does everyone else's but the bottom line is that Exceptional now should equal Exceptional after the CURB, and Poor now should equal Poor after the CURB. I think there are a lot of players in my position who worked hard to get where they are, never camped, or exploited, and are going to get a slap in the face for their hard work when this hits.

many believe these anti-decay kits, krayt population boom, lewt drops etc are all a 'last taste of eden' before they get the hell nerfed out of them after the CU. I for one, can't wait for the balancing of weapons, armour, pets etc and am looking forward to seeing how the population reflect upon the changes.

If the krayts were meant to provide a "last taste of Eden" they'd more reliably drop scales and tissues. Same for the revived Goraxes. I honestly think the high end monster spawns were cranked up because it's more fun to fight them than to spend all evening trying to find one.

Thanks for the hint, I also now believe the photo is fake.

Regardless, I believe that weapons won't change so much as how we use them, and how they react in the environment will change. HAM changes mean no more spamming specials. AP is going away (so I heard), therefore the infamous T21 would get 'nerfed' without even touching it. DOTs would likely be affected by HAM changes as well.

In short, they won't nerf the weapon/armour, they'll nerf the entire galaxy around it. It's a paradigm shift, not just changing damage numbers and using the old formulas.

I am curious as to what you are looking at that makes you think this is a doctored image... please explain. The only thing that I can see is the time stamp in the combat log and the time stamp in the spatial log not matching, but that doesn't prove anything other than the coversation took place at a different time.
