Thread: Proton Rifle?
Stats don't have off hand (the proton carbine is better)
It is a random Loot off NK Necrosis (lvl 92 boss on Kas)
Cert: Master Commando Weapon
And it is broken, you can'tfire the thing

It is a master commando weapon so it only helps master smuggler/master commando and has an area effect without a dot so when used with a mez it wont break due to the dot alot of commando weapons have.
Thought it may have been changed to msmuggler or something.

Yeah, it's still borked. It broke several times on TC when the CU was in beta alpha and had to be fixed. After it came live as a N-K drop it was broken again. Basically you can equip it and it looks bad ass... problem is when you go to fire there is no animation and it will not fire whilst making that invalid target sound.
My MCom/MSmugg is kinda dependent on it for when Concussion Shot gets changed to a mez... Even though it had a 6m radius listed on it's description, it was functioning like a non-AoE weapon and after an AoE Mez using a Acid Stream Launcher etc.... it would allow me to stay in combat and maintain a high level of damage output utilizing a heavy weapon... or else every other heavy weapon I have would break all the mez's at once because of the innate AoE.
I can always switch back to a pistol after mez'ing but in cave scenarios... That would be my hardest hitting non-AoE weapon and not get my group killed.
At least it looks like Blixtev may have it fixed.

That's what I do all the time -- solo or grouped. Just make sure you turn off auto-attack or never be late switching weapons.

ROFLMAO!!!!! yeah "All" of commando was gonna be fixed in the CU... think smuggler slicing mini-game.
